Great views and comfortable rooms. Amazing service!

The only difficulty was for our room. It was on the second floor but the lift didn't actually go to the floor the room was on. It was a bit strange, so, after the first day, we avoided the lift for the rest of our stay. However, that was minor. In general, the room and the hotel were terrific. Customer was service was phenomenal and the breakfast was quite good. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay all around.

I stayed with my dog and it was fabulous. I would stay again.

We had been traveling for about 18 hours when we finally arrived at the hotel. We were treated warmly and our room was ready even though we were there before check-in time. The room had a view of the water, was very clean, had tea and coffee in the room, along with biscuit snacks. The bathroom had a lovely shower, however it was impossible to keep the water inside the shower due to its design. We enjoy a full English breakfast which was delicious and more than enough. It is a wonderfully old-fashioned hotel with a lovely garden and excellent location on the coast. The breakfast room staff knew their job well (better than in many five-star hotels!) and did it with nice attitude. My room has left a conflicting impression: breathtaking views and decent bathroom on one hand and disappointingly dirty floor and some furniture, scuffed wallpaper on the other. I wish the rooms could be upgraded gently, without destroying the charm of the place.

I loved that old cottage and am glad it is in good use. It's nicely furnished and the village where it is situated is delightful. Two negatives were the dog smell in the lounge and poor state of plants in pots. While the dog smell is probably unavoidable as dogs are allowed, the dead plants brought about a depressing impression. Being a gardener, I tried to look after the remaining plants and had to transplant one huge heuchera plants that was literally hanging in the air as its pot was...

Travelling for work and I had the place to myself due to the pandemic. Felt a bit guilty for putting out the owner, Michelle, just for me but she was very welcoming. I travel quite a bit for work and when you stay in an independent guest house, it can be a bit hit and miss, but I felt immediately comfortable here. The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was good and they have a well stocked ‘honesty’ bar with reasonable prices. Recommend

The Villa Marina is run by two of the most wonderful people you could ever meet. Vince and Erwan were amazing hosts who would do anything to ensure you had a wonderful stay. The hotel is super clean, the breakfasts ensured lunch may not be required! A location not far from the sea or town centre and an overall lovely atmosphere. Modern B&B in a history house. The room was large enough with a comfy bed, modern bathroom/shower, and a mini fridge available. Reasonable walking distance to the restaurants, waterfront in Torquay.

The owners were overlord and the food was excellent.

This is a family friendly place. Will visit with you and really make you at home. I even got a cooking lesson.

Jo & Martin are very welcoming, helpful and exchange places to go and things to do around the local areas. The breakfast were amazing and a good choice of things to eat. Nothing was to much trouble. Helpful with parking too . Couldn’t get on the web site so phone and Jo sorted it out for me.

Short stay to see Torquay, Peter recommended a great seafood restaurant. We visited some local attractions.
