Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. We are a family of 4 with 2 boys ages 12 and 10. The lodge and screen walled cabins provide a nice setting with wonderful creatures and sounds all around. The tours were very good. We did a kayak tour from the gulf beach into a mangrove canal and saw sea turtles, birds, monkeys, and a sloth. This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. They are ever present and offer great advice (as well as conversation) for a fulfilling experience. We were sincerely sad to leave and hope to return in the future...

Good aircondition and comforteble beds. Near to the sea.

You are in a remote lodge where you hike in for 45 min to 3 hours depending on how many animals( monkeys, anteaters, scarlet macaws) you stop to watch. A horse cart brings in your luggage. There is no air conditioning, hot water or wifi but the food is fantastic and the smoothies delicious. Super convenient, clean and quiet

It is a true rare gem. A wonderful lodge in the middle of the jungle. Our villa was spacious. It has two huge rooms and a giant porch where we saw monkeys. I was grilling to the sound of howler monkeys. The owners are a young Danish couple who are welcoming and helpful. They are building a big pool which is going to be ready in the next few weeks. We loved our stay at Cabinas Tropicales! We had a big room with private bathroom that easily housed us and our two medium sized dogs. JeanCarlos the manager was super friendly and helpful, and we also chatted with the nice cleaner who had a great dog named Fiona who wore a helmet and goggles to come to work in the morning.
