Last-minute hotel deals in Varenna

Wonderful 3 BR 3 bath house with space for the family! Perhaps a bit of a language gap but when they say beachfront, they mean it’s a 10 minute hike down several hundred stairs to get to the beach. Otherwise the house was fantastic!

Staff was gracious and helpful. Lake view from room was incredible. Highly recommend Varenna as the city to choose - very quaint. Fun to walk to castle. We truly were happy with our choice after visiting Bellagio and Tremezzo.

Beautiful spot with lovely gardens and terraces from which to enjoy gorgeous Lake Como. Room was very small, but we did not spend a great deal of time there. Lovely breakfast which could be eaten outside weather permitting, on a nice terrace. If I went back, I might spring for a larger room...

What can I say? This hotel was absolutely amazing, from the top-notch hotel service at the front desk to the property cleanliness; it outshined every hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. The town of Menaggio is very walkable and can be seen in half a day, so if you want to fill up your itinerary, you can take a ferry to Bellagio, or Varenna. The property, rooms and staff were all amazing. The family that owns the hotel are very hospitable and welcoming. We had a lovely evening chatting with them about a local festival l. It was very memorable. However, if you did not rent a car buyer beware that it is a long and steep climb/walk to the hotel from any bus stops or ferries. And Ubers/taxis are hard to come by. Other than that the walk itself is beautiful just a little bit difficult.

My FAV part of my Italy Trip! This property is absolutely breathtaking and beautiful 😍 our room was huge and opened right onto the lake. The staff was super attentive to detail and helpful. The spa was amazing! Multiple dinning options on property and so much to do! You feel extremely safe while on the premises and it was an oasis away from home! 15/10! Would highly recommend..

Hotel staff service is excellent, served chilled juice at check in and always were helpful. Recommend having them set up a rental boat for you! The pool is heated and comfortable. Close to town. Only complaint was the bed is to firm. But I'd still come back happily!!

The staff was amazing. The location of the hotel is amazing in front of the lake. They are very helpful. They arranged all our trips. They arranged for us a boat trip around Lake Como. It was something to remember for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend this hotel if you have enough budget and want the top of the top of the top.

Gorgeous hotel with amazing views of the city. Although it is a little outside the city, you can walk (about 30-45 minutes) or the hotel provides transportation at certain times of the day.

Great hotel. On the lake. Clean and modern. Very comfortable and pleasant experience. Rooms are not large by US standards, but still big enough to be plenty comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good, and service at onsite restaurant was impressive. Glad I had a car. Seems like hotel would be pretty inconvenient without one. This place is amazing! The perfect place to sleep in the mountains. Trust your good GPS and you’ll find it, really worth it. We were welcomed and guided by Agostino. It was a pleasure to eat a great breakfast with all local, farm-grown products! Such a nice experience for my kids that enjoyed this place w/o TV. Fam. rooms are comfortable, cute, clean on top of that you have WiFi. I definitely recommend this place so much!

Hotel Lago provided an exceptional experience! The view and location were beyond perfect…in addition to the beautiful accommodations, the Hotel Lago team were so thoughtful and went above and beyond. They exceeded our expectations. We had the best time and will definitely be back!
