Poor location - too much construction around hotel

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Only the lobby window view of the Sandia mountains
Cons: 5th floor rooms needs to be updated. Need to throw in some free amenities
Very disappointed for it being a Hyatt Regency Hotel; outdated room, no free WiFi, no free continental breakfast and no free parking

Great place to stay

I enjoyed the hotel, but there was a lot of shady looking people hanging around outside in the streets. It seemed we had to watch our back every time we walked back and forth to the convention center.

Close to convention center.

Pros: Restaurant; room; staff.
Cons: Shuttle! Downtown has nothing to see! Walked to Old Town; not good in the heat!
Location: The downtown core is deserted! Lack of sites and restaurants. Beautiful park across the street: inhabited by the local homeless population.
Disappointed by lack of shuttle from airport. Otherwise, stay was great. Came for an event at convention center, that was great, but not much else to see/do.(without a car)

Not bad..

Pros:Nice hotel overall, could use some more common amenities. Hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Room is spacious and comfortable. Cleanliness is a priority and it shows. Cons: Valet is a mess and disorganized. Parking structure super tight, entrance causes most cars to scrape. Expensive parking as well. $20 A day. Conditions are disastrous until you walk into motel.

The tempature in the room was hot at night,

The vagrants around the hotel made for a poor experience. Everyday we were approached for money outside the hotel. The food in the hotel was overpriced for the quality. The bar prices were too high as well. Wifi should be included when you pay the price we paid pluss the fact that we booked for ten days. If we could have switched hotels we would have, the penalty for leaving would have been more then the cost of a new hotel.

No Power

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: See above.
Location: Albuquerque.
There was no power to the building in the morning, which might have been why the wakeup call was not timely. The weather conditions the previous night had been mild and there was a rumor that the power disruption was part of a scheduled outage. If that was the case, the power outage should have been better scheduled and communicated to the guests of the hotel. That said, the staff was very courteous and the room clean.

Not impressed

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: NA
Cons: Free internet and free parking would be great.
Location: na
I did not like the idea of having to pay for Parking and for internet service. Most hotels have that for free. Not impressed at all.

Expectations lowered

Pros: The FORQUE Restaurant, staff and food was excellent. The fitness center had a good range of equipment with moist cold towels to cool off with. Nice!
Cons: Clean the carpet in our room and put a plug where the coffee maker is located. We searched the room for a plug to make coffee with.
Location: Great location downtown, easy to get anywhere in Albuquerque from hotel.
We booked and paid in advance with Expedia for a 4 night stay with Hyatt Regency. When we checked in, we discovered parking and in room WiFi was not included and would cost extra. Hotel agent was kind enough to include parking at no extra charge, but we used our wireless devices for internet access instead of the hotel's WiFi. The carpet in our room had stains and the cover to the AC/Heater was detached making a rattling noise during the night. We expected more from a Hyatt Regency. The fitness facilities were great and the food in the FORQUE Restaurant was EXCELLENT! My wife had called ahead to see about getting a room upgrade, but the rude hotel agent informed my wife that because we had booked with Expedia, we were not allowed to upgrade. Seems odd, don't your think? A customer is a customer regardless of what method you use to book. Overall, we expected more for our money and got less.
