A hotel with tiny little rooms

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: The moment we closed the doors behind us and went back home.
Cons: The rooms, the number of available electrical outlets, and the service at the adjoining restaurant.
Location: We weren't hanging out there for long, just passing through.
This is the story of our trip to Renfrew, where there is a Best Western with really tiny rooms. Even the mice have hunched backs. Just kidding. We didn't see any mice. But if there were any, they would be deformed from the effort of having to squeeze into the rooms there. In fact, I don't even know how they managed to get the beds into the rooms. The rooms seem to have been constructed around the beds. Plus there is an unbelievable dearth of any sort of electrical outlets. Just when you think you've found one, there are a million other things plugged into it... It's a choice between your lamp and cell phone charger. I think they have two outlets per room or something. The attached restaurant seems to be quite nice, but we never really got the chance to discover the food for ourselves. We left ourselves a whole hour for breakfast before we absolutely had to leave. No chance of getting our order in though... It must have been really great, but we had to leave before (probably well before) any breakfast came our way. Good thing MacDonald's is close by. In summary, our adventure at Best Western was something of a disappointment, so much so that we would never recommend this place to anyone we are fond of, nor ever willingly set foot in it again.

The little fridge should be formalized or standard for summertime!

The so called Queen size bed looked more like a double bed than a queen. But when we asked we were told it was a Queen. The bed was comfortable, just smaller than our queen bed at home. The bathroom was in need of updating to clean up appearances, and toilet rocked when you sat on it or got up from it, and I'm sure was very noisy for the people below. Overall, the whole place could do with some updating to bring it more up to today's standards and expectations.

Nice hotel to stay

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: Quietness. The only hotel that I had a non-disturbed sleep. Front desk is polite and efficient.
Cons: The AC switch is broken
Location: Shopping mall right next to it. Walmart, Canadian tire, No frills, etc.
I requested a quiet room on line and the hotel staff arranged as soon as I went in. This hotel is the only one that read my "special request" on line booking. Service of the front desk and the attached restaurant is great.

Pros: Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and bright.
Location: Renfrew
We arrived at about eight P.M. The lady at the desk was pleasant, helpful and able to answer all our questions. As we entered our room we were pleased that it was clean, smelled fresh and was well decorated. We would pick a Best Western Hotel again. We have been at the Best Western in Niagara Falls a few times.

The room to small with to many furnitures that didn't leave enough space. The vent in the bathroom was very noisy.

Okay for business trip

Pros: Reasonable value for money.
Cons: See comment about lack of soundproofing in rooms.
Location: Tucked away by itself at the end of a cul-de-sac, so nothing really close by, but there is an A&W in the parking lot of a Walmart/Canadian Tire close.
Unremarkable, but clean and efficient. The decor is dated and the room rather cluttered, but it was clean. The soundproofing (or lack of) between the rooms was an issue. I had a room with an adjoining door to the room next to mine, and it blocked almost no sound at all. The guy next door started coughing at around 4 a.m. and kept it up for hours, and the incessant noise did interfere with getting a decent night's sleep.
