Unbeatable waterfront - peace - manatees - loved I

Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Room great. Location fantastic. Wildlife. Views.
Cons: Bar and simple organic snacks could be served later in to the early evening and start mid morning - nothing pretentious - keep it simple. OccMusician?
Location: Dolphin plus great but expensive - we paid up!
Simple hotel but offered the best for what it was Would definitely go back Welcoming helpful staff Sit out at sunset and listen to the comfortable silence! A primordial, wonderful experience.

Excellent hotel, great staff and nice pool + beach

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Everything - Staff, Breakfast, Pool, Beach, Rooms, Balcony, Location.
Cons: More parking on the south side of the parking lot would help.
Location: John Pennekamp park is a 1/2 mile away, Plenty to do there. Plenty of restaurants close by as well. We went snorkeling, parasailing, deep sea fishing.
My wife and I have been to the keys 3 times now, and this is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed at in those 3 trips. The staff was always friendly, the free breakfast was great - they have hot breakfast or a breakfast to go bag at the front counter, the pool was heated and was clean, the beach had some good white sand and there was surprisingly some good snorkeling right off the beach. I did not see any manatees, but that doesn't mean there werent any. I did see some hawk fish, a file fish, a barracuda, several upside down jelly fish (sitting at the bottom a little ways out), and several other fish. The rooms are clean and the showers are nice. We were on the 2nd floor and had a neat balcony overlooking the pool/beach area. There are tiki huts where they serve drinks also. It is half a mile from John Pennekamp Park just like they say. Plenty of good restaurants close to this area. Overall, I am very satisfied, and we are going back to this hotel next time we come to the keys.

Comfortable and convenient

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: direct access to a small beach, warm swimming pool, excellent breakfast.
Cons: In 7 days I couldn't see the manatees! I guess they have to think about feeding them...
Location: The location is not particularly exciting, but close to stores and restaurants and not far from Miami Beach, Islamorada, Key West and the Everglades.
Family vacation made easier by the friendly hotel staff. Nice facility.

Pros: The staff and the customer service provided AND the great rooms, view, pool, beach and location. I cannot think of anything I didn't like.
Cons: More stuff within walking distance.
Location: Park, marinas with all kinds of great tours, restaurants and shopping.
What a great find! Great hotel with AMAZING customer service. I was so impressed. We had such an amazing experience that we're coming back in less than two months from OHIO. We loved the location...a close drive to restaurants, the park and marinas. AND the sunsets each night were beautiful from the hotel beach area. Counting down the days to come back.

Hampton Inn

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: It is in a good position between Key West and Miami and easy to find. It is close to good restaurants and its own breakfast is ideal.
Cons: The maids could perhaps THOROUGHLY clean the rooms ie check for dead bugs.
Location: Location is ideal between KW and Miami and on highway 1. Good nearby eateries but a sober driver is required. Good for water sports but little else.
We had an overnight on the way from Key West to Naples in March 2014. We arrived in heat and sunshine and joined other residents on the sunbeds at the small beach. A friendly manatee swam over and spent a couple of hours unconcernedly mixing with the swimmers and paddlers. A marvellous experience! There were also iguanas of varying sizes, the largest the size of a dachshund, wandering about, again unconcernedly unless approached, whereupon the ran off. That night and next morning there was torrential rain-quite common here. We had a tasty breakfast then headed north. There was a party of schoolchildren also staying overnight and they were naturally noisy but come ten pm, on teacher instructions, silence. This was our second stay and we would stop over again.

A great place to stay!!

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean.
Cons: Being able to get to the lobby from inside the hotel. We always had to go outside & around.
Location: Location was ok...quiet area. To do alot of things you had to drive quite a ways.
The staff were ALL nice & friendly. The beach was very nice/private/quiet. The breakfast was absolutely great!!! Delicious food. The warm cookies in the lobby was a nice touch too!

Nice hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly, clean rooms
Cons: the person replenishing the breakfast supplies should have her long white hair tied back. She looked like she just got up. More info on the beach
We arrived at night, and drove to Key West for the day, and came back and spent another night. It wasn't until the morning we were leaving that we realized this hotel has a beach and a nice bar area in the back.
