Nice view of old toilets

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: I liked the proximity to the beach, shopping areas and restaurants.
Cons: New windows, new key card system, upgrade the bathrooms.
The key cards were not working. Right below our window there were about 20 old toilets lined up in the yard. The pillows were completely flat. The bathrooms were old and dirty. The curtains in both the bedroom and the bathroom were old and stained.

Great hotel and great location

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Hotel is close to all clubs, beach, restaurants. There is also a lot of parking places nearby. Italian restaurant dowsntairs is also good!
Cons: I wish there was an elevator, mainly because we has so many suitcases.

Staff was very welcoming. I was surprised by the size of the room considering all hotel rooms in south beach are tiny, this one had a small kitchen and even dining room. I was surprised! Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Will definetely stay here again

Pros: lots of space
Cons: the curtains especially in the bathroom
Location: beach
Nice and close to the beach- One block away. Room was spacious. Curtains were see through though. and construction was going on in the alley next door-not the hotels fought. The remote control did not work at all.

No washclothes were available the first night. The toilet wasnt the best either. You could tell that the room was a bit old.

Would stay here again

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Close to everything! Great bike paths along the beach.
Cons: A little TLC in the bathrooms
Location: GREAT location! Restaurants, beach, bike rentals all walking distance
Overall nice and comfortable place to stay. Close to restaurants, beach, bike rentals, and night life. Hotel provides beach towels and chairs for a small deposit. Rooms have microwave, coffee pot, dishes, toaster, mini-fridge and plenty of space. Bathrooms could be spruced up (shower drains are slow) but overall I would stay here again!

Comfortable and close to beach

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, room.
Cons: The bathroom tiles have suffered some water damage, probably because the shower is not separated and needs better drainage. A squeegee mop would help.
Location: One block from the beach; one block from commercial street with restaurants and stores.
We (two adults and two young children) stayed one night at Ocean Reef Suites in late August. We had a very good experience. First and foremost, I have to commend the staff for their professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness. In our case, we arrived on a very early overseas flight and were able to get the room 7 hours before official check in. The next day, not only did our flight not leave until later in the evening but my wife fell ill and was in bed most of the day. Given our situation, the hotel staff showed humanity and compassion and allowed us to stay past check out a few more hours at no extra charge. I do not recall the names of the staff, but I can say that they truly represented the best of our globalized world--one member of the staff was from Argentina, another from Peru, and one from Bosnia. All very pleasant and very attentive to our needs. Thank you.

Great location fun for family or couples to relax.

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Very nice room with excellent kitchenette and supplies
Cons: Monitoring the refrigerator for defrosting, some bathroom tiles were loose, some furniture needs to be replaced because they were broken. amenities
Location: As previously mentioned..Bike rentals, cab and bus tours, beach, restaurants
Very close to the beach, an ideal setting for couples, lots of activities within it's proximity. If you have a car parking is terrible but hotel staff can assist and provide excellent suggestions that will remove unwanted headaches and maximize your stay. The restaurants in the vicinity are fantastic, Bike rentals are close by even tours are available.

Worst Hotel Stay Ever

Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is by far the worst time I've ever spent in a hotel. In booking this room, I understood I wasn't signing up for a five-star stay by any means, but this was terrible. We stayed here for four days and two out of the four days there were power outages, one day for an hour and the other for about 3 or 4 hours. Which meant no lights, no air conditioning and no blow dryer (which at one point was a significant inconvenience). The day we got there the room was filthy, there was cleaning powder left in our shower, dust and dirt all over. The next morning we requested another room but were told everything was booked, but housekeeping would be sent up to do a "deep cleaning" of our room. Shouldn't the cleaning always be deep? Scary. Either way we got back and there was nothing very deep about the cleaning. Bed was made, towels changed, nothing different from when we originally checked in. These are things that should be expected of even the cheapest hotels. The blanket was torn, insides coming out, sheets old and worn, stains on the walls, counter tops and curtains, I didn't even feel comfortable walking around barefoot. Again, we had no expectations of five-star accommodations, but I think lights and decent bedding should come pretty standard no matter where you're staying. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible Customer Service

Posted Aug 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
My Girlfriend and I reached hotel at 11 pm ready to get out and enjoy nightlife only to find out the hotel was "overbooked" and our reservation was moved to "sister hotel" We had paid 25 dollars in overnight parking completely wasted. At the desk we were promised free parking and the room at the sister hotel that took us 40 minutes to get to, we received neither. Unhappy as I was, I asked for full refund from the hotel for 1) I never agreed to internal transfer to sister hotel 2) i was made false promises. I was not refunded the money. The Hotel front desk has been claiming such actions can only be performed by hotel manager who happens to never return her phone call or emails. After a week of numerous attempts, I had to cancel charges on my card and file for fraud. My Advise to new Guests, good location, so so looking rooms but if you are unlucky and should need any form of customer service don't expect anything from this hotel.
