“Good hotel but cannot use for business”
Generally it should be good but noisy and uncomfortable. Especially no supermarket around hotel and no shop in the hotel. And also it is not convenient for business, it means it was so far from central of business area (district area) and commercial area. Probably I felt no goos because my room was not god view even though this was at top of hill at SF. Therefore if I go to SF agan as business, will not use here.
“Excellence”
Our experience at the Fairmont was outstanding. From the front door welcoming until our departure. They were excellent. We will definately go back.

Second stay and it won't be the last. Love this Hotel!
“"Planning to go back"”
We changed hotels during our stay in San Francisco due to excess noise and we were very pleased with our choice to stay at the Fairmont. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were large and comfortable. It was the best sleep I got on my entire trip! Also their restaurant was perfect for dinner. We would definitely recommend the hotel.
“Wow Breathtakingly Gorgeous”
Woderful enjoyed our stay
“Not as clean as I would expect”
I was excited to stay at the Fairmont, having heard many great things about it. Overall, the service was great and the buffet breakfast was outstanding, but I was really disappointed in the cleanliness of the upper floors. The minute I stepped off of the elevator and onto the fourth floor, I was overwhelmed with a musty and stagnant smell. It was clearly noticeable to me all three days we were there. When we entered our room, it was neat, but very dusty in places I would expect a hotel of this caliber NOT to overlook (tops of door frames, draperies, but especially near the head of the bed between the bed and nightstand or the bed and the wall). Clearly cleaning that requires moving furniture or stepping on a stool is not being done. The icing on the cake was the gum stuck to the desk near the bed, clearly visible to anyone who sat on the bed. My husband and I will try a different hotel next time we visit San Francisco. I would not recommend it simply based on the cleanliness even though everything else was very nice.
“DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!”
The Fairmont is mediocre at best. Let me say this... We really wanted to have a great stay at the Fairmont. The only thing that it has going for it is the old nostalgic feel that the national "chain" hotels don't have anymore. The walls ARE PAPER THIN... Seriously paper thin. For being a resort hotel the room was not kept to the standards that one would expect. The bathroom had hair on the toilet seat and the carpets were not very clean. What also was annoying was the parking rates. In an already expensive city the Fairmont charges more than average for parking. I never waste my time rating hotels but my wife and I want to save you the frustration that you will have if you book a hotel here. DON'T DO IT!
“Maria D”
Great location! I was just surprise with the price you pay for the luxury,It should come with a coffee maker and tea just like the one at The Fairmont at Victoria Island in Canada This is the only hotel I stayed at in California with no complimentary coffee maker, but they were nice about it, we asked for a coffee maker, they said they will look for one, but the room does not come with it, and after our 2nd call they sent the coffee maker and I wish they throw in a free bottled water coz the evian water $8.00 is really too much. LOVED the TONGA ROOM! We love the 60.s 70's 80's music, our family was dancing the night away. I love Fairmont Hotels, I would stay here again, but I will bring my own bottled water next time.
“Love the Fairmont”
Beautiful hotel with great rooms esp in the older section.
“On of San Francisco's finest”
This was a true joy! The hotel lived up to our expectations. A bit disappointed that a hotel as well known, famous and luxurious as The Fairmont cannot afford to run its own business center. It is offensive to pay this type of value for staying and then be asked to provide a credit card to charge a fee to use a computer to pull up directions to a destination within the city.
