Shelter, shower, okay location but overpricedPosted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Check in and check out went smoothly. The room was ready when we arrived at 1:00 PM, there was parking available. It was easy by car to get into town.
Cons: The hotel is very rundown. From towels to sheets to pillows, everything is cheap. They shouldn't ask for a $20 deposit for no reason.
Location: Don't stay here if you don't have a car. By car, it's easy to get on Ponce de Leon road which runs right into the historic district.
My friend and I stayed in a double room with two queen beds for one night. The only plus of this hotel is it's location, which is just outside of town, but right near the main road that runs into the historic downtown. It's about a 10 minute drive to the old city jail if you have a car. Otherwise, it's overpriced for what you get, which is really only a roof over your head and a hot shower. Considering the condition of the hotel, the rates should be $15-$20 cheaper than it is. The hotel staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly. We didn't ask for any help with directions so I can't say whether they would have been helpful or not. Check in and check out went smoothly. I was taken aback when the desk clerk said I had to put down a $20 deposit, but got my $20 back at check out without any problems. Not sure what that $20 deposit is supposed to cover... The hotel is older and not in good condition. The room smelled musty. The beds were just okay for comfort but the pillows were overstuffed and hard, which made sleeping difficult. The bathroom was so rundown that it didn't seem clean, even though it basically was. There was soap but no shampoo provided. If we had been staying more than one night in St. Augustine we would definitely have changed hotels.

Stinkende Zimmer , heruntergekommenes Motel . Würde es niemanden weiterempfehlen. Besser 20 $ mehr investieren .

Spend the extra money. Go elsewhere.Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: The location. That's about it.
Cons: Everything, it all could be improved
Location: Close to the things you want to do, you won't want to spend time in this room.
First of all the pool is out of order right now so don't expect that. Next don't expect an actual complimentary breakfast, unless you consider coffee a breakfast. The room smelled and the beds were weirdly uncomfortable and the TV has the strangest stains and grossness on them.

Nice hotel pretty close to St. Augustine OldtownPosted Jan 21, 2015
We've stayed just one night in St. Augustine, but the Hotel is good. A good price for a normal room, nothing special. The room was clean but it smelled weird. The breakfast is not really a breakfast - just a coffee and pastries. I think a car is necessary to get to Oldtown, it's not far away, but I don't know if it's possible to get there without a car. The staff was really friendly.

only thing good about it was close to everythingPosted Jan 19, 2015
Nasty smelling rooms, brick hard beds, right by train tracks and train runs about 3 times a night. Breakfast was terrible. Service was not good. Pool was gross.

Stay Away!Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Absolutely nothing!
This motel should not be accepted by Expedia! I expect to have acceptable accommodations when booking on-line. This motel is not a place to stay, especially if you have family with you. Quite a bit of noise and activity in the parking lot, which, by the way, is not large enough as there are more rooms than parking spaces. The room was a dump; the heater did not work, the blanket, if you can call it that, was paper thin, the curtains had to be paper-clipped together to close. We stayed about two hours and checked out. Upon checking out, Diana, the desk clerk, said she first needed to check out the room, and we she came back accused me of stealing the telephone. She then called her manager and he said it was okay for me to leave. She tried to scam me for money for the telephone. St. Augustine is a great place to visit, but do not stay at this place.

Tacky run down hotel.Posted Jan 2, 2015
Very unattractive place. Was told we need to leave a $20 deposit to make sure we didn't steal the towels, remote or TV. Who would want these old beat up things anyway? I will say the room was fairly clean. Looked like it had been recently painted, but very sloppy job. Really can't recommend this place.
