"Good location especially if come by train !"
We stayed one night only .(Moved on to Florence the next day) The room was very clean, the location is very good , easy to get from the train station. There is a Metro station 7-10 minutes walk from the B&B. This place has 4 rooms only so you don't get the feeling of big crowded hotels.

Via Di San Martino Ai Monti 38, Rome - Map
"Great Location, wonderful experience"
This bed and breakfast has a great location being quite close to some of the major attractions. From here we walked to many of them, taking the bus to the Vatican (not to be recommended) and the metro back to Termini (this is the way to go). The B&B is about 10 minutes on foot from Termini and quite easy to find. Additionally, we really loved the neighborhood it was in and the roof-top terrace. We had the Fiat 500 room, which also sports a wrap-around balcony. We also enjoyed the feel of the building; it had a lovely character that was welcoming in itself. Walking up to the 4th floor may be too much for some, however, we didn't find it particularly difficult and the kids definitely loved it. The next door tattoria had excellent Italian meals and Omar - the owner - was very nice as well. Also, there are two grocery stores near by, which is quite handy. As to the B&B and our contacts there: the staff (Silvia and Isabella) were very responsive and proactive via e-mail communication prior to our arrival. Silvia, our contact during our stay, was very friendly and answered all of my questions. We paid at the time of our arrival, and payment needs to be made in cash.

Hotel Touring

Via Principe Amedeo 2, Rome - Map
"Excellent value hotel close to the train station"
Hotel Touring is very close to the Termini train station, has excellent, moderately priced restaurants nearby, and was spotlessly clean. Located on the first floor, it has elevator access that easily accommodates two people plus suitcases. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone who wants affordable accommodation in the centre of Rome. It's not luxurious, but has everything you need and at a great price.

"Great for students and those on a budget"
We are 2 college students and we loved our stay at Romeangelo Hostel. Victor the owner is extremely gracious and catered to our every need. The hostel environment caters to great interaction with other travelers from around the world. 5 minute walk to Termini Station and Metro stop, convenient to all the major museums and sites in central Rome. Do not judge by the outside - the entrance is a little hidden, but the inside is what counts.

Pocket Guide: Rome Termini Central Station Independent Hotels

Rome’s central train station, Termini is the entry point to the city from Fiumicino Airport, and is an impressive modern architectural sight. Between here and glamorous Via Veneto, there are several interesting places to visit. The Palazzo Barberini is a superb baroque palace, the Terme di Diocleziano was the city’s largest bath complex and the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione is remarkable for its Capuchin monks’ crypt.
