ok

Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Beds were extremely comfortable, most comfortable i’ve had in a hotel. The room did have the taint of cigarette smoke, which was unfortunate - I don’t think it was a room they usually give out - far from the elevator, etc. because we did ask to be on that floor with everyone else in our reunion but the first room (which smelled just fine) was a king bed and we needed double bed which the staff missed when initially assigning our room. Otherwise was great, walking distance to metro, etc. I’d stay here again.

Traveler's tip

Close enough to metro downtown, walgreen i believe nearby, etc.

Professional service

I particularly enjoyed your breakfast service. Several good choices, with good tasting food and professional service. My favorite was the fried egg sandwich on sour dough bread. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Traveler's tip on dining

One of my favorite restaurants in D.C. is near this hotel: Kinkead’s--- great seafood and wonderful service.

Great Place to Stay when Visiting Georgetown

The Georgetown Marriott Hotel turned out to be the perfect place to stayed while taking our daughter to Georgetown University. The room(s) were very comfortable (especially the bedding)! One of the things we liked best was the more then amble outlets in the room to accommodate all the necessary "re-chargers" and curling irons! The hotel staff very friendly and helpful at all times, especially the valet staff. Only negative would be the cost of parking, very pricey at $30 a day plus tip! Overall we would recommend staying the Georgetown Marriott!

Traveler's tip on dining

The hotel staff highly recommended "Bread & Chocolate" (around the corner from the hotel) for a quick breakfast. We enjoyed it so much, we ended up eating there every morning for breakfast! Loved the french toast and chocolate croissants! Yum!

Convenient area

5 blocks to Metro, close to Georgetown and a short Cab ride to many attractions. Hotel staff very courteous and friendly. 1 block on 23rd st, there is a nice place to have breakfast called Bread and Chocolate. Close to Dupont Circle.

Traveler's tip

Two Metro stations within 5 blocks. Close to Georgetown. Walgreen’s on the corner, convenient in case you need something.

Friendly Staff

The staff at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were neat and clean. My only complaint is that our bathroom ceiling was leaking two mornings. Even after the repairmen came, it was still leaking the next morning. Overall I would recommend this hotel due to it’s convenient location and quality.

Great Hotel and Location

Great Hotel for the price. Great location with only a few blocks from the GWU metro stop and many restaurants. Area around hotel felt safe and it was comfortable walking at night. Walking distance to Georgetown and Dupont Circle. We would definitely stay again.

Traveler's tip on dining

For a great dinner within walking distance from hotel, head to Luna’s Diner and Grill by Dupont Circle metro stop. Other good restaurants were Eli’s New York Kosher Deli and Luigi’s Italian.

Great hotel!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location was great...near Metro, great restaurants, and Georgetown. The room was quiet and comfortable. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel even has a community computer and printer in order to print airline tickets.

Traveler's tip on dining

We ate several meals at a nearby cafe called Bread and Chocolate. It was reasonably priced and everything was homemade.

Very Nice Staff

We stayed in D.C. for several days. The staff took very good care of us. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful with directions, resturants tips and anything elese we inquired about. We had a problem with ac in our room and it was taken care of in a timely fashion. The only complaint I have was the pool water was very warm, and the water felt a bit clamy.

Family trip and was very satisfied

We were in DC for a family trip and the hotel very graciously accomodated our request for a roll-away and a fridge. The front desk was helpful with questions and the kids enjoyed the pool. It says they cater to the business traveler on the website but at least while we were there, there were many families staying as well. Doesn’t hurt that there’s a Walgreen’s and Starbucks on the corner! Close to everything, as well.

The Hop on/Hop Off sightseeing tour bus stops at the hotel. It’s a bit pricey ($30 pp) but take a full day and use it to see the whole city.

Great location and price

We picked this hotel to spend a weekend in DC, we wanted to be close to the Dupont Circle which is only 3 blocks from there. I had stayed in the Hilton at Dupont before and my stay was not as good there, the Hilton is quite old and dusty. The room we got at the Marriott was huge (make sure you ask for the renovated rooms) the bed and linens were really comfortable and it had a 32" plasma TV. Everything was perfectly new, I assume it was renovated this year.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

You can leave your car just around the corner on front of the parking meters without having to pay on weekends and holidays. We left ours on N street, between 22nd and 23rd. and rode the metro everywhere we went.

Hotel was OK

Location was good, about 4 blocks from metro. Walgreens / CVS and places to eat were in walking distance. The hotel lobby is in good condition. Rooms were clean, but damp. It was mid August and as such hot and humid in DC. The air conditioner keep the room cool, but damp. When the A/C would "kick in" you would get chilled because of the room’s dampness. Then, when the A/C "kicked off" you would get warm. then the cycle would start over again. with regards to the room and checking in, we booked a double bed for vacation, however upon check in we were informed no more double beds. The only rooms available were rooms with a king bed. This created a problem was there were 4 of us. Hotel staff suggested we should have guaranteed the double bed. I assumed that was what I was doing when I called the hotel in the afternoon and informed them we would be late and not to give our room away. All in all it was OK given the price.

Great Location

Because of the location and price I really cannot complain to much. But the service was not up to Marriott standards. I had asked for a room with 2 double beds and they did not have it upon registration. Room itself was very small. Parking you car cost extra $$. Will look at other options when I visit Washington DC again.

Alright

The service at the check in desk was below par; the employees helping customers find their way around Washington were perfect however, as was the cleaning staff. The swimming pool could do with an update.

Traveler's tip on dining

Dupont Circle is rather disappointing, but Georgetown is as close, and there is a lot to eat and shop there.

Great location and close to the subway

The hotel was excellent. My only complaint was that the room had some excessive moisture. Seems like they need to work on their A/C unit.

Will stay here on next DC trip

Great location. Super-comfortable Marriott bed. At check-in, the staff told us that there was a large convention staying in the hotel and gave us a free upgrade to their business wing to ensure our room would be quiet. Very nice of them to think of this! The concierge was most helpful with directions and gave us detailed information on the best way to get to the FedEx stadium.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The International Spy Museum was wonderful. We avoided waiting hours in line by making reservations online. The Operation Spy experience was well worth the extra cost. Very realistic. Unlike anything we’d ever done.

Not very accomodating

When we checked in, despite having reserved a double bed room since we were traveling wiyth two boys (8 & 4) the front desk insisted that there were no double rooms available. They gave us a king size bed which allowed the 4 year old to sleep with us; had the boys been older, the sleep arrangements would have been horrible. They also boast of having a starbucks on site; well if on site means around the corner (about a 5 minute walk) then yes they do. Also, the elevator is very slow and parking ($30 a nite) is very tight.

Traveler's tip

FYI, there are plenty of Starbucks in the area but you may want to try the local cafe’s. plenty within walking distance. Also, if you plan on using the hotel’s internet-- don’t. the cost is expensive and across the street at the Embassy Suites it is free (as is the breakfast ).

Friendly staff

Staff at the Washington Marriot were friendly and able to give knowledgeable recommendations for first time visitors to DC. Many of their directions to recommendations for dinner or sites were printed on little cards that we could tuck in our pockets or wallet.

There are plenty of free things to do in DC which makes vacation reasonable. Plan your daily trips on one of the maps given by the hotel staff, this will avoid scooting back and forth around town. Some popular sites like the National Archives and Washington Monument have a wait- go to them as a first stop of the day. Only a few museums are open after 5pm. Subways were clean and efficient way to travel.
