Set in a beautiful neighborhood

Shula’s is a conveniently located place to stay in a nice neighborhood. It’s near a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance. My only complaint is that the standard rooms don’t have a refrigerator or microwave, which are often standard in many upscale hotels. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay when visiting the Miami area.

Great Hotel & Staff

Hotel staff was great. Very Helpful and the bar mgr was great. Food was awesome. Already told other Dolphins fan to go here when down for games.

Next time in Miami..... Shula’s will be the place!

I took my family to our first baseball game; while we were out the hotel left the bottle of sparkling grape juice I brought in a bucket of ice w/ 4 glasses to celebrate our night. Great location and service should be a 6 star rating!

Would stay again

Place is nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside, club access is a great plus. Not on the beach but not beach prices either.

Very Very Comfy

This was a well needed overnight of relaxation and it went well and above the utmost standards!! I wasn’t feeling well and the room was so comfortable and the service was excellant and timely. The food was very good as well at Shula’s as well and being a huge Miami Dolphin fan, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the pictures and going down memory lane with Don Shula in the Hotel and Shula’s Restaurant.

It’s also very quiet for Business Traveler’s who need to get a project or such done in a quiet environment, especially during the week.

Going downhill

This is the second time we stayed here. The first time we had people next door that were making a lot of noise until about 3 in the morning (we got in very late and were too tired to complain about it). This time after we went out we got back to the hotel about 11:00 pm and there was no hot water. When we called the front desk about it they sent someone up about 11:30 who said it was fixed. The sinks got hot after that but the shower never did. We complained again, but never heard back from anyone. It was after midnight, so we gave up for the night and went to bed. We did have hot water in the morning though.

Be ware if you get the $25 discount coupon for Shula’s restaurant. Tt’s not good for the one in the hotel (you have to go over to the Country Club). Also, very few restaurants in South Florida take DiscoverCard (so plan to us a Visa or MC).

Cozy and Quiet

In the midst of Miami hustle and bustle, Miami Lakes is a quiet, executive neighborhood with a nice little walk-around neighborhood minutes from everywhere. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well worth the price with ammenities you could pay twice for in an metropolitan area. Highly reccomended

Odd Location

Odd location and rooms are not kept very cool. We actually had to change rooms to another floor because the ac was not working correctly.

I always use this hotel when I am in Miami becasuse it provides good service and it is located in a nice neighborhood.

Spetacular hotel - I definitely recommend

I do not have anything to not recommend this hotel. Everything was perfect and according to our expectations. Good points of the hotel: - Staff very friendly and reliable. I live abroad (Brazil) and bought some stuff prior to my arrival. I requested to deliver at Shulas hotel. Once I checked in, the receptionist told me: "You’ve got two packages Mr.". Spectacular!!!!! - I played tennis everyday in the tennis court. Very good sporting center. - Room with plenty of space, beds comfortable and very clean. - Location is very nice and calm (Miami Lakes), no noise and secure. There are restaurants and stores very close to the hotel. - Cost benefit is excellent. I do recommend this hotel to everyone for the above reasons.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There is a coffe shop on the corner (I do not remember the name) of the hotel. We used to have breakfast there. The ladies are very nice. They serve you with a big smile and I recommend the roast beef sandwich (delicious!!). If you play tennis this is a good hotel to stay. There are 4 tennis courts well maintained.

Great place!

this hotel is a great place to stay. miami lakes is off the main drag so it’s not your typical freeway hotel; access to shula’s health club, many great restaurants to walk to and a great bar in the hotel. i’ll be back for sure.

Great place!

This place was one of the nicest hotels that we stayed in in the area. What a great deal! I would highly recommend it to all. So close to Pro- player stadium. A plus!! Nice breakfast buffet.

Nice

My room was nice. It was a excellent choice for easy commuting to Dolphin stadium, but if you don’t plan to rent a car, its an expensive ride to south beach in a cab. Overall it was a nice hotel.

this place is awesome for the business traveller. Plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Shula’s health club is complimentary for hotel huests and really makes the difference if you want to keep fit. I’m definitly going back. Save money and get the ’hotel & car package’.

Clean, comfortable, convenient accomodations

After a long flight , it was good to relax in a quiet, comfortable, clean and nicely appointed room. Can highly recommend the in-hotel restaurant for dinner.

Very comfortable room!

Great room, clean, comfortable with a super bath room and accept to the pool. The only downside was a lack of free wifi. You either have to pay for an hi-speed internet connection in your room or use the terminals by the restuarant which were very disappointing.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Very nice staff and hotel with a good location if you like shopping, or a movie, or Starbuck’s coffee and fresh baked goods to go with your coffee, and nearby restaurants of your choice. You are within walking distance on most anything you would want or need except for a beach (which is only a 1/2 hour drive away), but the hotel has a lovely pool and spa and a full workout gym located directly across the street.

My Miami Hotel of Choice

I have stayed multiple times at Don Shula’s Hotel. I like the location, and proximity to everything. It is a good hotel with a great Gym, which is one of the main reasons I stay there, besides being on Main Street!

Nice Hotel

Very nice Hotel located near restaurants, stores and grocery stores. I staid in a non-smoking room wich I found clean and odorless as well as the rest of the areas. There is a restaurant inside this Hotel that looks very nice, clean and the people are great. I was very satisfied with the overall conditions of this facility and would recomend it to anyone.

In my case, I staid in the Hotel during the nights and went out during the day to visit some friends. But I did go to some nearby restaurants and caffeterias for dinner and breakfast. Good place for bussiness, games, tourist, golf, etc.

Finicky traveler

Overall, both my wife and I were very satisfied with this hotel for a number of reasons. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with general questions, the room was spacious and clean (this was really important to us), the bed was surprisingly extra confortable to sleep in, and the location was in a idyllic "town square" type setting of businesses, restaurants and upscale condos. The location is easy to get to off the nearby freeway, but be sure to get detailed Mapquest directions to this hotel because it is not on the "main" highway. Our experience in the past with many Florida hotels is that they are often rundown, even the nationally recognizable hotel names, which is why I was a bit skeptical at first in booking this hotel. Although this is not a new hotel, we were pleased with this hotel’s general condition, its grounds maintenance, and we felt that the price was reasonable in relation to other hotels. When traveling to the Miami area in the future we will likely stay here again.

Make sure you have a map and directions to this hotel because it is not real easy to find, particularly if you are coming in at night.

The hotel was very clean and staff extremely helpful. We had a problem with our first room and were changed quickly. We are big Dolphins fans and will stay here for next visit because of quality and convenience to stadium.
