always enjoy our stay!
Have stayed at this hotel thru all the name changes. Wonderful rooms.Wonderful views and great location. Walking distant to just about everything The Westin has remodeled the restaurant and the lounge area. The lounge area has always been a unique and inviting area when it was the ANA and the ARGENT. However, the new remodel isn’t as "glam" or inviting. We would fore go the busy city "hustle and bustle" just relax and enjoy the beautiful interior design with a glass of champagne. The lounge now, is much too stark and cold. Sometimes change is good...not so much this time. Find the interior designers that did the original design and bring them back....please!!

Great hotel and location. Staff very helpful. Rooms excellent.
Only issue was with the bell men not friendly with holding baggage for later departure. Front desk said no problem but they acted as if it was bothersome. Actually had to go back and find own bag.

A Surprise Gem
While at first disapointed that we were staying at the "wrong" Westin, we came to be totally happy with this unexpected choice. The hotel was modern , bustling ,and the staff helpful. The location was excellent and was in walking distance of the Ferry Plaza , Sf MOMa ,and much more. The hotel was newly renovated so it had all modern touchs....flat screen TV and sufficient plugs for electrical equipment. While the room was small there was a large lounge area to sit and enjoy a good wine selection and a generously long "happy hour". A real find for the price and location.

Nice hotel - staff not as friendly as the Omni or the Meridien..
Clean, comfortable 4* hotel right of Market Street so easy for public transport options - loads of MUNI trains and buses less than three minutes away. Easy to get to the BART stations for airport too and it’s only ten minutes from the Ferry Building so great for transport connections. Hotel was as expected - staff fairly disappointing across the board after our experiences at the Omni and the Meridien where all staff - from check in, to cleaners, to porters - went out of their way to be friendly and go the extra mile with our two year old daughter. It wouldn’t stop us staying there again, but it was a little disappointing to drink sparkling wine once you’ve tasted champagne!!

Great hotel except for...
My stay was very pleasant. Nice, clean rooms and an elegant, modern overall atmosphere. However, for a place that charges so much for rooms they should relax their prices elsewhere. For example, they charge (exorbitantly in my opinion) for wifi access (~$14/day) and to use the computers in the business center. The prices at the in-hotel restaurant are offensive. $8 for a small bottle of Heineken, give me a break.

Overall great stay, only minor things to complain about
I picked the Westin because of its location. I took BART from the airport and the hotel is really close to the Montgomery station. Also, tons of restaurants and shopping nearby. Check-in was a little slow. My room was tiny compared to the room I had the last time I stayed there. And it had a view of the parking garage. But for one night I really didn’t care. Great bedding, great little reading area, Internet fast but expensive. Nice tea. Lighting in the bathroom was not sufficient.

Poor Front Desk Service, But the Hotel is Good. Excellent Location.
I have stayed in this hotel before when it was call Argent, the quality of service and facilities are well maintained. Room is clean is nice. Bed is very comfortable, comparing the Westin in Pasadena, CA, I still like Pasadena better. We had a little problem with the front desk manager when checking in. Over all this is one of the top rated hotels in SF for us. Rates are a little high, as for New Year, it’s OK.

Nice hotel for the money
Hotel was nice, 2 blocks from BART station, one block from the streetcar so pretty convenient location. Rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The only negatives were 1. That the service in the restaurant in the hotel was awful - in fact they refused to serve us because we did not order a full meal (we just came in for some snack/drink before goign back to the airport)! 2. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was not what i would expect (and I am not picky with these things at all!) The water pressure wsa rather weak and the temperature rather cold even on the hottest setting.

Nice hotel in San Francisco
This is a lovely modern hotel located near market street. It is close to the bus route which is helpful. There is a starbucks and a CPK right across the street which was do convenient. As for the room, it was a good size and clean. There are floor to ceiling windows which allow a maximum view of the city. They also had an ihome in the room so I could charge my iPhone. I did have an issue with water leaking from the vent in the bathroom, but the hotel was able to fix it quickly. I would recommend the wastin San Francisco market street to anyone planning a trip to San Francisco.

Road Trip to SF
The Westin SOMA was a very nice hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is great, you’re a block away from Union Square and the cable cars. The neighborhood was kept up and I had no problem when walking around with my girlfriends at night on the main streets. The room was comfortable and relaxing, bathroom was somewhat small. You are also very close to a bunch of cute little restaurants, I suggest you look up "Plouf", and you’ll find a dozen restaurants in a secretive alley. I would recommend this hotel if you find a deal because you’ll be paying $50 for parking night as well.

Rude Service, Mediocre Room, Great Location
Our overall experience at this hotel was mediocre. We figured by going with a Westin in the Union Square area we could not go wrong. As soon as we arrived the gentleman at the check-in desk was rude in response to us nicely asking for early check-in. We checked our bags with the bell-hop and sat down in the lobby to figure out where we would go while we waited for a room to be ready. 15 minutes later another woman at the check-in then told us that the other gentleman gave us misinformation and in fact there was a room to check in to. We were given keys and were relieved to be able to settle in after our flight even though it was strange to have to then get our bags from the bellhop again. When we entered the room it was small with very low ceilings on a very low level of the high-rise hotel. We did not complain because at that point we were just happy to have been able to check-in early. We thought we were pretty much guaranteed to have a great experience because we’ve always had a lot of luck with Westins and it was in a great part of town. Ultimately the bed was comfortable and the location was great, but everything else outside of that was mediocre.

Excellent choice.
The Westin Market Street is a great choice in San Francisco. Close to all the public transportation options, it is very convenient to all attractions. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. We had a few dealings with them under what could have been stressful situations but they resolved everything in an expert manner. The beds were extremely comfortable, the view from the 30th floor was fabulous looking right down 3rd street with views of Union Square and both bridges. Everything was in perfect working order and extremely clean.

Wonderful downtown experience
I recently stayed at the Westin Market Street and found it to be a wonderful experience. The room had a wonderful view and was exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable. My girlfriend and I were looking for some restaurant recommendations and the concierge was very helpful in finding us a great seafood restaurant. I would definitely stay at the Westin the next time I go to San Francisco.

Would like to return, with some cautions
Overall, our stay at the Market Street Westin was very good and you can’t beat the location for getting to Union Sq. the Embarcadero, the SFMOA, Metreon, etc. The only reservations I have are in two areas: Fed Ex shipping and spotty housekeeping. Housekeeping was good on some days and not on others. For example, a dirty glass was left in the room, the thermostat had a note on it to keep the room cool and when we returned it was set to 85 degrees and stifling. We used the wine glasses provide one day and they were never replaced. We had to repeatedly ask for extra towels, etc. Other days everything was clean, in order and exactly as we wanted it. On the Fed Ex, I dropped off a box on New Year’s Eve. very early in the morning. I had hoped it would go out that day, or Monday at the latest--but it did not get sent until the following Wed--not acceptable

Excellent stay at The Westin
Excellent service. Nice rooms. Clean hotel. Upscale. Friendly staff. Close to almost all major attractions in SF. Highly recommended. Worth the money. Beware, they charge $54 per day for parking with multiple entry. Comparable to almost all major hotels in SF.

I’ll stay there every time I’m in San Francisco.
Our trip was 3 days long, and although we were not at the hotel much, it was a great experience all around while we were there. The room was comfortable and spotless... no complaints. Before we left, we received a bill for items missing from the mini bar that were not taken on top of items that were actually taken. Upon checkout we brought this to the attention of the staff and instead of refunding us the charges for the mistaken items, she refunded us for everything! Awesome stay at The Westin. I love this place... the lobby, the lounge, the staff... Great experience I’m looking forward to again!
