"The first time I stayed at Chocolate Lake was when I was bringing my son to University. This time, returning, was for his graduation and the experience was the same. The property has very good amenities, a free coffee, hot chocolate, espresso etc. machine in the lobby which is accessible 24/7, and a full breakfast is also included. The shower pressure was good, the room was clean and well laid out. The staff were helpful and the hotel sits on a beautiful lake. Chocolate Lake was my first choice...

"The property is very affordable, and in a great location, easy walk to best Halifax attractions (Camp Hill Cemetery, Public Gardens, waterfront, shopping, dining etc). Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are well worn, generally clean. No heating or AC that I could make work, my travel blanket was useful. Very quiet, very good security. Washroom and showers are shared by all guests on the floor. Linen and towels provided. Basic setup, perfect for travelling solo and exploring Halifax. Guests...

"We didn't have any towels on the second night of our stay and asked someone where can we get some more. They pretty much said that on the weekends, it's fend for yourselves as there's no organization/no weekend staff. Maybe a good idea to get more employees or up the organization on weekends. Apart from that it was really nice, cozy, quiet and we felt safe. We'll definitely try to book again when we come back to Nova Scotia"

"After reading the comments here, we were prepared for everything. But there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Of course, it's not a 5-star-hotel, but it was more than OK for a stay for one night before catching the next flight. The room was clean, comfortable, the WiFi worked fine, and Chinese staff was friendly. The bus stop for airport bus no. 320 is some 10-minutes-walk away as is the promenade. The price at the time we booked was not bad. Would stay again."

"Definitely a good value for this price. We got a 3 bedroom apartment (no common sitting area though), no TV but I don't use hotel TV anyway. There is a full kitchen so good for family with kids. Also keep in mind there is no A/C. They provide a fan for each room. So check weather condition and make sure you are prepared."

"Excellent location for us and we were able to just leave our car and walk to everywhere we needed to be. We were even able to walk downtown to the waterfront to see the sights. The surrounding neighbourhood seemed very safe at night. The Inn was very clean and the continental breakfast was well laid out. A warm, comfortable environment overall. This property does not have an elevator so we had to carry our luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs. Being 80ish, this was not so easy. Staff did...
