The Devil respected the agreement and in one night he built the Old Bridge with the help of a group of demons of different height and build, cause however of the structure’s irregularity. When St. Columbanus, the next morning, saw the Hunchbacked Bridge, mocked the Devil by letting a dog be the first to cross it.
