A quiet, outback setting, nestled in the mountains of Snyder County

  • Come and relax on the large deck with a cup of coffee and indulge yourself in the serenity of nature and spectacular views surrounding you. Enjoy the large variety of activities: swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, volleyball, and campfires.
    A very secluded property with private hiking trails on 125 acres and is connected to many miles of Bald Eagle State Forest. Lots of games and children's activities are for you to enjoy.
    A large timber frame pavilion complete with an outdoor kitchen and bathrooms provides ample space to cook, eat and hang out.
    The cabin has a living room with a large stone fireplace. Bedrooms have beautiful log furniture. The basement has a gas fireplace and additional couches and a table to play games.

We had a weekend reception for family and friends at the property. This was perfect for us to get away in the mountains, and have enough room in the lodge and the pavilion for everyone. There was something for everyone: Ponds, Game Room, Playground, etc.. This is the perfect place for a getaway with a group of family or friends.

This property was incredible! Our group loved everything about it. There were so many activities - hiking, biking, paddle boating, campfires, and so much more. Cooking in the outdoor kitchen for our large group was a blast! The house was also very clean. We will absolutely return. Note for future groups: there are no TVs and no cell service. But the WiFi was great!

Magical New Year’s Getaway for a Big Celebration

We stayed at this property over New Year’s and for my mom’s birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful! The house was spotless, beautifully built, and had everything we needed for a memorable celebration. It was peaceful, scenic, and a perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time with family. Even though we were a group of 18, the property is so spacious that it could easily accommodate even more people.The lack of TVs wasn’t an issue at all—it gave us the chance to disconnect and truly enjoy each other’s company. The only minor details were that the gaming house could use a bit of care or an upgrade, and a nearby neighbor had a landfill on their property (which is beyond the host’s control), but neither of these impacted our experience.Overall, it was a magical place, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting to ring in the New Year and celebrate such a special occasion. We hope to come back again in the future! Highly recommended!

This place is amazing! The host is super friendly and responsive. This place is also HUGE and perfect for a large group! We have 40+ people and there’s still plenty of space. Impressive Stay at Bald Eagle Retreat

Overall quality better than we had imagined. The kitchen in the pavilion was clean and very effective to serve a large crowd. The space it provides is great. The yard was mowed nicely which is always a plus for games & etc. If anything could make an awesome place a bit better, it would be 2 professional style pickleball courts with good lighting, though this totally didn't keep us from having a great time. Thank you!

Weekend with childhood friends

This is our second time staying at this property. We enjoy all of the outdoor activities even in the middle of PA winter. The fireplace in the main living room is beautiful and so cozy. Amazing location (near some top notch trout fisheries), property is beyond what pictures can capture. Perfect in nearly every way. The view, the kitchen (is a blast to cook in for big groups), and the countless activities. Would gladly return.
