On the website, it says the kitchen remains open until 10PM, however we arrived at 9PM and were informed the kitchen closed at 8:30PM. We were not informed of this before hand and left our event purely to ensure we could have a meal here and not risk cutting it fine. We mentioned this to the receptionist who just said ‘I know’ they don’t have it on the website - it would be good to inform your guests of this in advance. We were also told to exit the pub garden area as they were closing early - again not informed of this closure beforehand. Upon arrival we were told there would be a £50 charge that would be returned upon check out - again not stated on the website, but money was returned fairly promptly. Breakfast was okay - quite a few options- it was a buffet style breakfast but did have cereals too. I most likely wouldn’t stay here again though purely due to the lack of information prior to our stay.

Be very careful when paying extra for a track side room. Despite booking months in advance I was put on level one, where all you can see is the back of a grandstand. This also makes the room very dark and gloomy. Save yourself a lot of money and just book the car park view, as it seems other people in my party booked this and received a free upgrade to a track side room. Money making marketing scheme by this hotel giant.
Asked about this only to be told the hotel was full so nothing could be done and received two drinks tokens by way of an apology by pretty uninterested staff.
All became apparent when we went to the bar why two tokens as it took an age to get served, with some staff just moving glasses around, while others where run off their feet.
Stayed here quite a few times before and this has to be the worst experience to date. Also told they no longer give out the goodie bags when you check in, meaning there is no longer any water in the rooms so make sure you take some in with you.

"The hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a very good stay. The meals were good and the staff polite. There is an issue about finding the the back car park. This is due to the town's one way system only. It's worth asking the desk staff for directions before you arrive."
