Staircase to the bedroom balcony makes a bathroom trip in the depths of night a precarious adventure but the overall ambience and amenities are delicious . "Stayed for 2 weeks in this lovely apartment- part of a classic French property with a garden and private pool. Although secluded the property is less than 10 minutes drive to Brantome with its many good restaurants and market. Some fine walks in the local area as well. Our hosts, Sandra and Alun, were very helpful about places to visit and great company over a glass or two of wine. We cannot recommend this property or location highly enough."

"Very comfortable house in a lovely spot (only slight difficulty is the spiral staircase - which could be tricky for some). Especially good if you like fishing with a beautiful lake right outside the front door. Surroundings are extremely quiet and peaceful with plenty of nice walks in the area. Host’s really nice and friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back."

"We had the most wonderful time with our family of 3 generations from New Zealand, Australia and England. The weather was perfect ,the beautiful pool enjoyed by everyone. The forest was enjoyed by us all especially our eldest son from NZ who did the forest walk daily to the Boulangerie for our fresh baguettes and croissants . Michel and Brigette were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome . Their property is beautifully maintained and we all agreed that it was a real privilege to holiday...

"Le très mauvais temps n'a pas permis d'apprécier la région, ni les extérieurs du gîte (piscine...), dommage. Toutefois Brantôme tout proche vaut le détour et Sarlat aussi mais plus loin. "Martine and Alain were very welcoming and they have worked so hard to make the gite a happy holiday place. We were lucky with the weather and were able to be outside all the time - it was an unexpected heatwave! There were lots of lovely eating places in Brantome and Bourdeilles, but you do need to drive. "What a beautiful farm for a relaxing stay! Brice was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of places to eat and shop. He had good English language skills and was very helpful in guiding our still-developing French! There are nearby places, even on the farm, to hike on trails and explore the woods. We ate our meals on a table in the backyard watching the sheep grazing around us. All in all, a beautiful place and time! I highly recommend it!"

"This house is situated brilliantly for a rural holiday in France with great local towns, a near lake and lots of choice for restaurants within a short drive.
