"This is our second time staying with Tony in the beautiful villas there on the beach. We were also very lucky and watching the babyturtles hatch and get let down to the sea. The housekeeping was a treasure to have daily, I could get spoiled with that. The bar next-door has wonderful food and bartenders. "Villas de Rosa was as advertised. Our stay was excellent and the daily housekeeping was great. Tony is always there for anything you need. Room, pool and Beach Service was a added plus! It’s a little ways to town, but that keeps it nice and quiet. A hr walk or the collectivo are inexpensive ways to town. The taxis are expensive, but it’s the same up and down the east coast."

"Very comfortable, great outdoor patio for morning coffee and dining and hanging out with awesome sunrises and ocean views. The pool and beach were steps away. Joan was very helpful in providing for our needs. There is 1 great little restaraunt a short walk but I would suggest having access to a car for groceries or other shopping or restaraunts or using a taxi service."

"Nice property, very friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes lacking in amount of staff especially at the pool and pool bar. The staff that was there were working hard but the company could hire more staff. Room cleaning was done well and timely. Food at the buffet was mediocre… but I don’t have high expectations. Wish there was more fresh fruit and guacamole all the time. There was no towel game as the resort was definitely not at capacity when we went which was awesome. Overall enjoyed our stay and would consider going back. The entertainment team was great. We loved the divorce party and Miss Xtras performance! "

"We’ve stayed at many all-inclusives in the area including the Wyndham Azteca and Westin Cozumel and this resort is better in most ways. The food is extremely high quality, the staff are wonderful, and the grounds are beautiful. We had some problems with the first room we were given but a man named Daniel found us an updated room that was perfect. The gym is the best hotel gym I’ve ever seen, and I travel a lot. "

"Had a wonderful time here at Akumal Bay! Beautiful view from our oceanfront room and the staff were lovely. It really did feel like a peaceful retreat compared to other AI’s. Everything was clean and the food was good. Unfortunately, there was a lot of seaweed. Not really anything the resort can do other than clean it, but this did take away from the beauty of the beach. Also the Latin dance classes! My husband and I had hoped for a couples class but it was more of a Zumba class. Would be nice to include a couples Latin dance class:) "

"A beautiful property if you’re looking for a quiet Mexican getaway! Our rental was just steps away from the beach and pool. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pros: \~Our rental was a 3 bedroom (each with its own bathroom) was very clean and had a kitchen and private balcony - perfect for our family of teenagers \~The pool was clean and there were plenty of comfortable lounging chairs, tables & umbrellas \~The beach was steps away & also had plenty of lounging chairs and umbrellas. Beach/pool towels are provided. Things to be aware of (not cons per se): \~The beach here is very rocky as you’re getting in the ocean so you’ll definitely want water shoes. Once you’re past the rocky section it’s soft sand and is shallow for a good distance out and is great for snorkeling. \~We only ate at the restaurant once so we can’t give a thorough review but the one meal we had was good. \~The sargassum will wash ashore March-October - it’s naturally occurring and the staff rakes up a lot of it each morning. If seaweed is not your thing though, please research it and come in the off season. \~You’ll need your own transportation if you stay here. We rented a car and drove all over the Yucatan- Akumal, Tulum, Coba, and Chichen Itza. We loved our adventure days! \~Most of the staff (front desk, restaurant, room attendants) we encountered did not speak much English but it was never a problem. Thanks to Google Translate we were able to communicate and get everything we needed. "
