I have stayed in Al Shohada hotel twice prior to this visit and i can clearly see the standard has gone down and it is certainly not a five start hotel.
The positives:
-The hotel staff quickly came to pick up the luggage on our arrival and safely took to our room
-The reception staff looked nice and gentle, although had to bring in a translater on one occasion to explain one problem
- The two issues related to shower/toilet were responded and fixed in quick time (within 30 mins) by the housekeeping staff who were humble and polite
The negatives:
- We booked a twin bed room for x2 adults, x2 kids through expedia and what we got is one king size bed. On multiple complaints, we were told sorry this is what we have to bear with, as hotel is full
- We booked a non-smoking room through expedia and what we got was a room in a corridor full of smoking guests and bad smell all around. Again this was complained to reception but to no avail
- The toilet flush wasn't working on first use and the shower drain was blocked. These were fixed on reporting but what i find disappointing is that these should be checked prior to room allocated to new guests
- The housekeeping is TERRIBLE, of our 5 nights stay only once did the room service came to change towels/bed sheets and clean room (despite calling them 3 times and every time they acknowledge to come but won't). This room service bloke was a rude person and the hotel needs to teach him how to speak to guests.
