The room was on the first floor but had steps from the lobby. It did have a back door close to the room in order to bring our bags in. No breakfast but there were options within walking distance. The location is perfect for walking past the shops and restaurants to the harbor. The room was small and only one person could use the bathroom to get ready.

Everything about the Explore was fabulous right down to a free cocktail on the rooftop sitting area while chatting with fellow travelers. Worth a visit, worth a return!

I loved this hotel. Frankie at the front desk was helpful, professional and inviting. The hotel was immaculate, I liked the bed and pillows, I did my laundry for free (bring laundry detergent), Filled my water bottle with filtered water and ice which was a nice touch. I was disappointed in a few things. They serve cookies with coffee however at 4pm when I checked in the cookies were already gone and not restocked. Second was breakfast and the reason I gave the hotel a star. The eggs were dry and definitely over cooked, the fried potatoes were on the mushy side and the pot of oats needed to be wiped down as well as the counters. Not a deal breaker but something to note. Everything else was great. I even heard a couple in the elevator mention what a diamond in the rough this hotel was so I would stay again.

If you just need a quick, convenient, clean & functional place and don’t need to be coddled and catered to, this is a good option. Good proximity to downtown Marquette, and convenient access to the lakeshore bike trail.

Hannah was an amazing front desk clerk! She was kind and vivacious and brimming with a fun vibe! Everything was clean and the stay was very enjoyable!
