Altstadt Frankfurt Vacations from $853

We booked two superior apartments, told to be modern and have a great view. They were also said to be on the first floor, according to their own website. When we arrived, we were assigned two completely different apartments. One on the ground floor, with a view of bushes and people passing by just outside the windows. And with really dirty carpets.. and the other one was on the third and topmost floor, hot as hell when we arrived, and with a good view if you opened the roof window and leaned out just in the right angle. Both were dirty and absolutely nothing like the pictures and descriptions online. We were really, really disappointed as we had looked forward to this stay. We also told the man in the reception that one of the curtains were missing in the downstairs apartment. He said he would come check it out, as people could walk by and look straight at the beds if they wanted to. But he never showed. So we had to cover it with a bedsheet. The only positives were good beds and an ok breakfast.

The room was very basic, but clean. Shower water pressure was great. The staff and morning breakfast were the most enjoyable.

Amazing hotel!

Hello fellow travellers! We are delighted to bring you this review. As seasoned OS travellers we have had many varied experiences with accommodation and rarely do we find a true gem: this is one in Frankfurt city! From the moment we arrived for our one night stay to our transport pickup to the airport, the service was outstanding! They gave us a free late checkout, a nice spacious room & at no charge to hold all our luggage whilst we explored the city today: we arrived back & they graciously allowed us to sit in their foyer area for 2.5hrs whist waiting for our pickup: cold water was offered while waiting: plenty of nice ‘touches’ for this short stay. The staff went out of their way to look after us very well. The location and facilities were exactly as always, as supplied by Expedia: they are our preferred accommodation supplier for all our OS trips: simply brilliant! So, how did we rate this stay: a solid 5 Stars from us: we cannot think of any negatives. They are very close to transport at 3 kms from the city centre & a major shopping centre being 500 meters away. We go be this travellers gem the highest recommendation possible at below the A$200 price point: it balances value for money with super service, location & a quiet environment. A superb find! The main positive of Hotel Monopol is its location—it’s right next to Frankfurt Central Station, making transit seamless. Beyond that, the stay was very disappointing. The entire property feels extremely old, tired, and overdue for a major refurbishment. The furniture, fixtures, and decor felt heavily worn out
