The weekends are CRAZY at the market, very crowded and hot. Visit during the week when things are quieter and easier to navigate.
The market restaurant La Fuente, near the market's rough, dry and slightly abused duplicate of the fountain in the Parque Central, serves a good economical Guatemalan breakfast.
Huge selection but the prices skyrocket way too high for tourists, especially for those that can be ethnically profiled as foreigners. Fair and standard price could help boost sales.
