Flagship Inn – Bay Harbor, Maine
We recently stayed at the *Flagship Inn during a visit to Bay Harbor, and overall, it was a solid and budget-friendly choice with a few standout features that made the stay enjoyable.
Location is definitely the highlight – the hotel is about a mile from downtown Bay Harbor, which made it easy to walk or drive to the heart of the action. Bay Harbor itself is a charming little tourist destination filled with restaurants, local shops, and opportunities for whale and puffin-watching excursions. The footbridge that spans the bay is a must-see and adds to the small-town charm of the area.
What really attracted me to the Flagship Inn was the price point. Compared to some of the higher-end hotels nearby, this property offered a much more affordable stay without sacrificing convenience or friendliness. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made a great first impression. They also provide a complimentary breakfast with hot food each morning, which was a nice perk and a good way to start the day.
The hotel itself looks like it's had some recent remodeling, which helps freshen things up, though some aspects still feel a bit dated. The one downside of our stay was the bed comfort—after long days of exploring, it would’ve been nice to have a more supportive mattress.
