We stayed in the Echo Lakes room in the carriage house. It has two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a little sitting room with a tv, mini fridge, and keurig. The room was stocked with k-pods and coffee fixins. The daily breakfast (included for free) was absolutely amazing. Each day you have two options to choose from. We always got one of each to try everything. The breakfast was served in the side room which is mostly windows so it is beautiful and bright with nice views of the well kept grounds with their beautiful flower gardens. Cheryl (the property manager) was wonderful and ensured we had everything we needed. Feels like you’re walking into the past with all the historical furniture but with all the modern convenience. Breakfast was phenomenal as other comments have stated. All day coffee and afternoon refreshments were a plus after getting back from some long hikes. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back. Our stay at the Elmhurst Inn was wonderful. The innkeeper made us feel welcome and answered any questions we had. Location was great - easy walk into the center of Bar Harbor and short drive to Acadia National Park. Front porch was a great place to enjoy the weather and meet the other guests. Breakfast was wonderful - every day we had a choice of either a sweet or savory option. Our room (Cadillac) was spacious and clean. Our only wish would have been if the shower was a little bit bigger and the water pressure was better (We're sure it was water saver). The grounds are nice with Adirondack changes for relaxing outdoors. The breakfast was very good everyday. It is an easy walk to downtown. Close to Arcadia, short walk to downtown, fantastic breakfast -- and everyone we met here (working or staying) were absolutely fabulous.
