Basque Block Vacations from $419

We checked in for a 5 night stay during a heatwave with air quality warnings because of Oregon forest fires. We were told our room had a wonky door handle that needed specific moves to open. The room had no a/c. I called down to the desk and asked Cody for a fan. He said no rooms had a/c ( untrue) and there were no fans ( untrue). He offered me free breakfast ( spoiler: everyone gets it) and $20. I told him it would be better to take the $20, go to Walmart, and buy me a fan. He said no. The next morning, Penny found us a fan. Later that afternoon, we discovered our door cards didn't work. While waiting in line, I realized that other rooms DID have a/c. Why you would expect an older couple to spend 5 nights WITHOUT a/c during a HEATWAVE when you couldn't open windows because of poor air quality is puzzling. Instead of checking out, I insisted on a room with air. The a/c wasn't great, but I still had a fan. The breakfast area was very clean, very well maintained by the breakfast worker. He did an excellent job. Rooms were clean. We will NOT be staying there on our next trip to Boise.

The staff are always kind and helpful. The room is spacious and comfortable. Always a good value.

Love to support a nice local business on our trip. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Walkable location and also enjoyed borrowing a bike.

Would never recommend this place to anyone . Horrible customer service. Poor amenities. Spa and pool were CLOSED and they refused to approve a refund which I requested at check in because the amenities listed in the site weren't available.. go somewhere else even if it costs a few bucks more.....
