Split feelings about this hotel. What really stands out about this hotel is the location, cleanliness, and the view/atmosphere from the lake facing balcony. It's truly unique and extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Now the not so good parts: - breakfast from 7-10 only, and is kinda mid - half the time nobody present at front desk to help or answer the phone - Spa is basically a small 2-person sauna. No jacuzzi or steak room or anything else - Spa is open only from 5-8pm!! - Gym was closed, had to get help from front desk to open it for me. In summary: it felt great being in my room balcony, but it felt difficult getting any service inside the hotel otherwise. If you're looking for a "Resort & Spa" like the name suggests, avoid this place. Otherwise, go for a lake giew room you'll really enjoy it.

We loved everything about our stay, start from check in till check out. Postbus 101 from interlaken west station straight drops & picks you to & from the door step of the hotel. Staff Melisa was great who checked us in and did the best she could to make our stay comfortable. Thank you! Cruz, helped me to get into the GYM early and made sure I get my gym access early mornings before the gym opening hours. Thank you! BF area is wide with lovely view, reasonable BF choices. Everything about our stay is memorable and encouraged us to stay here in future. If you want to enjoy peace, quiet, relaxing stay, Beatenberg hotel & spa is a great choice. Instead of staying in busy Interlaken, I decided to treat the family to Beatenberg Resort and Spa, which looks amazing on website. Sadly, the website must be AI generated or 20 years old. Pros: staff were friendly, though I only saw two, at separate times. The hotel is clean, for the most part, but our bathroom had a very unpleasant odour and we literally had to ‘mouth breathe’ or feel nauseous. The views of the Alps from back of hotel are spectacular. Cons: Hotel Restaurant is closed for renovations, though there are no renovations visible. This was major problem since the few other local restaurants were full, and we had to bus back to Interlaken for food. This was not evident on booking hotel, and we were not notified. Hotel Bar does not exist, albeit listed on website. Pool table does not exist. Breakfast buffet was very poor quality. This is posted as 4 star hotel so is unacceptable. Eggs were greenish, and foul smelling. There were cold chicken nuggets (yes, chicken nuggets for breakfast) and some other items but the only thing we would eat was croissant and an apple. There is an instant coffee machine. Grounds are neglected. On website there are pics of a wedding ceremony on back grounds. I can only assume this is AI generated. All of the listed ‘activities’ refer to things that can be booked in Interlaken, not at hotel. Ultimately, this was our only mistake in Switzerland so we didnt let it ruin our trip.. However, for 1000 CHF/night stay we feel robbed.

The staff was excellent! Property is located about 20 mins from Interlaken. There are not many places to eat near by, you would have to go to Interlaken. The shower stall was very small! Otherwise it gave the cabin type experience. Breakfast was good.

Quiet and friendly

This mountain property was fun to visit. It was a few minutes drive outside of Interlaken. We were welcomed by the property manager and personally shown all the amenities. The view from the property overlooking the valley was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread was great.

The location of the property is quiet and have a good scene in the room which can see the lake and the snow mountains. Also it is very easy to park the car. The town is very quiet with very few tourist. If you expect to walk to a tour area in downtown, this hotel is not the right location. It is under new owner and management, there are still many areas need to be improved. The room does not have AC.

What A View!

I usually try to stay close to whatever transport hub I’m using. But the were no rooms available in Interlaken, so I had to look further afield and happened upon a gem I would never have expected to find. Set on the mountain side with a view of Lake Thun and the Jungfrau mountains right there in front of your own private balcony. An amazing view. The room was compact but very clean. My only quibble was that bed had a footboard which is always a problem for tall people. The bus stop is right outside the front door in both directions and a free pass is provided by the hotel for local travel during your stay.

Our family of five stayed at Beatenberg Hotel & Spa for five nights, and overall it was an excellent experience that we would happily repeat. Originally, we had booked a Family Suite via Expedia that could accommodate all five of us. As a precaution, we contacted the hotel directly prior to arrival, only to be informed that the reservation details from Expedia had not been properly transmitted and that the Family Suite could not be secured. Since the stay had already been prepaid, this was obviously concerning. What truly impressed us was how the hotel handled the situation. After discussing the matter directly with the hotel team, they kindly offered an alternative solution: two Junior Suites, secured side by side, entirely as a gesture of goodwill. This proactive and considerate response immediately reassured us. Both Junior Suites featured private balconies with stunning panoramic views, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and immaculately maintained. While we were not all able to stay in a single room as originally planned, the quality of the accommodation and the thoughtful arrangement more than compensated for it. The children loved having space, and the views alone made each morning memorable. Thanks to the hotel’s professionalism and genuine hospitality, we enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing and satisfying five-night stay. For us, this experience demonstrated what excellent service truly means. We would very much like to return with our family again in future.
