The inn is located on the edge of the busy part of town but well within walking distance to everything. My wife attended a two day workshop and I brought my boat along so I could fish the local lakes while she was working😛.
The parking area is ample and safe and I was confident that my precious boat would be fine there overnight.
The first floor of the inn was very well furnished, comfortable and was what one would expect from a country inn in Vermont. There were a number of comfortable sitting rooms on the first floor for relaxation. The bedroom was adequate size wise and very clean and comfortable as well as the bathroom. Everything is top shelf; bed, comforter, furniture, towels and pillows.
Karel and her husband, the innkeepers, were very nice and friendly and provided a nice breakfast which was included in the price👍.

We liked just about everything about this place. The bed was a bit lumpy, but that was about it. On the trip home my lady realized what it was we liked the most. There was nothing wrong with the room. That is, in every hotel there seems to be something that is broken. A towel rack, a stain on the carpet- something that is not working or needs repair. This room had none of that. Everything was well kept and pristine. and it really helped the modern styling shine. We would certainly return to this hotel if in the area.

This Hotel brings you back to the way Stowe Vermont "used" to be. Older architecture, and photos of days gone by adorn the walls, creating a sense of history and desire to ask about the past. Great location to access the amenities that Stowe has to offer. Shopping, Stowe Mountain resort, local foods, and Breweries are all accessible with either walking, or a short ride.

The quintessential inn with the quintessential innkeepers -- MaryAnne (sp?) and George. Friendly but not ingratiating, attentive but not intrusive, knowledgeable without being know-it-alls.
We had a smaller room but found it to be cozy and comfortable. All the details were spot on; from the pitcher of ice-water awaiting us upon arrival down to the bedside chocolates that ensured our sweet dreams. There are many common/shared rooms at the inn, including a reading room beside a warm fire, game room, ski & gear nook, and hot-tub; but we spent the most time in the dining area.
Breakfast was always served promptly and with a smile and each day (three total) of the stay featured a hearty and delicious breakfast prepared by George. A good thing too, because the slopes were *freezing* (-35 below wind chill) when we were on the mountain at Stowe (approximately 10 easy driving minutes away). Bonus: cookie, hot tea, and hot chocolate hour runs from 4pm to 7pm at the Brass Lantern and is a delight for those chilled bones coming in from the cold.
MaryAnne also gave us the inside skinny on best runs and ski conditions on the mountain for us, as well as insider's tips to the town and local sites.
I highly recommend the Brass Lantern Inn and we wish the owners nothing but success in the future.

The owners of the hotel are very friendly and cook you breakfast (which was great). They gave us advice on dinner locations and more. The hotel is, I believe, a very old farmhouse but is in amazing condition and our room was very clean. It's the sort of picturesque place you would imagine at a bed and breakfast in the mountains of Vermont.
