They charge gratuity automatically which isn’t uncommon in Nassau. However, it seems that because the staff knows they’re getting tips regardless, they don’t bother being attentive. If I pay auto-gratuity, I expect the pool staff at the pool bar/restaurant to bring me my order. Instead, they all stood around talking to each other and forgot about my food until I went up and asked for it. By that time, it was cold. When I stopped by the sushi spot near the lobby at 9:38pm, the waitress said they close the kitchen at 9:30pm, but I can order to go. She rushed me to order and barely gave me a minute to look over the menu. For how expensive these places are, service is SERIOUSLY lacking… The hotel itself is gorgeous, but the restaurants are outrageously expensive with terrible service.

We had a relaxing and comfortable time at the Riu. The entire staff bent over backwards to help us, especially the use of a wheelchair for my wife. Great selection of good food for all meals. We ate at three of the restaurants within the Riu. The food and service were very good, however it seemed like 2 of the 3 kind of encouraged us to leave as soon as our dinner was finished. Would have enjoyed staying for 15-20 minutes more. No other concerns, would recommend and return to Riu in Paridise Island.

The food was excellent, the water temperature and sand are great. The service was good. However They should clean the seaweeds on the shore and do something about the rocks upon entering the water not to injure people.

We enjoyed our getaway. Beautiful views of bay and ocean. Our room overlooked the turquoise ocean water. What a spectacular way to wake up and fall asleep with sound and sight of waves. Staff was very kind. Family style place-don’t expect luxury here. Rooms are clean and has coffee machine with pods and mini fridge. Wonderful time to chill and let go as it’s a simple island lifestyle. Enjoyed use of kayaks exploring waters and surroundings. .

Really helpful staff. Great free coffee. Little water in room. Great A/C and comfy bed. Big minus was pool being out of action, not told and we planned on using that for a day. Also quite far from town center but handy for airport.
