Atlas Trace is a mile-high condo in the sky, located on the 10th floor of SugarTop Resort atop Sugar Mountain. You’ll be overlooking breathtaking, ever-changing, views of the valley and the highland regions of Grandfather Mountain and Linville Ridge.
Relax in your own private scenic mountaintop retreat with gorgeous vistas from every window. A large private balcony offers spectacular memory-making sunrises, sunsets, starlight, and cloud cover that will amaze you.
SugarTop Resort is the perfect retreat for snow-skiing in winter or escaping the heat of summer. In fact, due to the mile-high elevation, SugarTop is without AC. Summer evenings can prove to be a bit chilly. During midday peak temps, simply open the windows or balcony door and enjoy the fresh mountain breezes. There are high-end ceiling fans in both bedrooms, and 3 nice portable fans for your comfort and convenience.
You will feel welcomed and valued the moment you step inside our recently updated, clean and cozy condo. This travel-themed unit was created as a space to enhance your stay on the mountain.
SugarTop is not a hotel. We individually own and operate our unit, complete with our own housekeeping staff. By being our special guests, you are granted access to all amenities available to us as owners.
The amazing views are an incredible amenity, but the perks don't stop there. Sugar Top Resort offers a refreshing indoor heated swimming pool, 2 large hot tubs, an exercise room, steam room and dry sauna, and shower locker rooms. Other amenities include 24-hour gated security, front desk service, a quiet reading area, outdoor sunset deck and large barbecue and picnic area, and complimentary shuttle service to and from parking. (*All guests park in Overflow which is well-lit, gated and monitored)
Everything in Atlas Trace is brand new or features “delightfully found” treasures for your comfort and enjoyment.
All as pictured: The master bedroom has a queen bed, two USB charging nightstands, and private full bath. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (put them together for a king bed). Guest full bath. The Living Room includes a sectional sofa, large armchair, funky-cool footstool with USB charging table lamp, and a real wood-burning fireplace.
Extra Guests: A deluxe queen-sized self-inflating airbed that sleeps 2 can also be provided with linens and pillows upon request.
All towels, bedding and linens are provided. Night Therapy mattresses with pillow tops and plenty of pillows, all with proper antimicrobial covers.
Large flat screen TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. Private, High-speed 20.0 Mbps internet, reserved exclusively for the use of our guests. This is great for connecting multiple devices simultaneously, general surfing, checking email, social media, and is excellent for HD video streaming, and online video gaming with multiple game players at the same location.
There are some games, books, and a collection of movies provided with a DVD connected to the living room TV. There is a nice collection of books downstairs in the lobby reading area that is available to all guests. There is also a vintage 1980's stereo system for your listening pleasure.
The dining room adjoins the family room where you can enjoy the fireplace year-round. A beautiful craftsman bartop in the kitchen seats 2 with cushioned swivel stools. There's a vintage 1960's TV tray stand with 4 trays that can be used as laptop tables and/or dining trays in the living room.
Fully-stocked kitchen with full-sized appliances, 1100-watt microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, Crux regular coffee maker, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, tea kettle, tea infusers, Nice pots and pans, lovely dishes, drinkware, silverware, and a large assortment of kitchen utensils. (My wife still cooks from scratch so whatever she needs will be there, including a rolling pin, casserole crockery, steam pots and a cheese grater.)
We've also provided a rolling bar cart that is stocked with vintage Vegas Style barware, complete with a few card decks to get the Poker Faces started.
Mood lighting, wind chimes, and a collection of instrumental music CDs are provided for relaxation and romantic ambiance.
Our unit has an upgraded laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer, hang-dry rod and laundry tub, ironing board and iron.
If anything is missing, please make us aware. We strive to accommodate all that's pleasingly feasible.
The resort lobby is also a place for individual relaxation or group gatherings, with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the lovely view. There is also a vending area with drinks and snacks. Lots of books and puzzles are available for guest enjoyment. On this level is also where the indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, workout room, and the dry sauna and steam room are located.

NOTE* During the winter months: All wheel drive vehicles, 4x4, or snow chains may be necessary. This is ski country. Weather watch for conditions and come prepared. SugarTop Resort is happy to advise on road conditions.
**Be sure we have the correct number of guests in your party. This is a private gated community. Guests outside of your reservation will not be permitted entry without owner permission and/or payment of the additional guest rate above 4 persons of $30 per person per night stay if applicable. 6 max occupancy.
Sugar Mountain ski resort runs a shuttle bus to the slopes during peak season holidays and weekends.
(*Ski Equipment is prohibited from the units and common areas of SugarTop. Items must be stored inside your vehicle.)
