"Great accommodation & excellent position for walking to old town and restaurants. The lake was a short stroll away. The manager, Stefano, was excellent with helpful ideas for trips in the area. Breakfast with Gluten Free availability was perfect."

"Albergo a dimensione d'uomo, così come il paese che rappresenta. La camera, pur affacciandosi sul corso, perfettamente insonorizzata si presenta accogliente, pulita e ampia, così come il bagno, molto confortevole. I proprietari sono molto disponibili. Devo sottolineare la colazione ricca e abbondantissima servita con eleganza e molto gustosa.

"The Hotel was spotlessly clean and excellently located for walking to local restaurants and the lake.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and it was defiantly service with a smile.
Excellent value for money and we would certainly stay again when we revisit the area."

"Relais without any kind of support to Visitors. Any reception or service available (they inform the reason: no information from Hotel.com about my reservation). In fact its not in regular operacional situation. After contact the owner by Phone and await 1 hour the atention was good."

"Wonderful hospitality and food, good location.
Didn’t sleep well most night because of large (10) group also staying, who returned late or very late and woke us up (3 times one night !), but that was no fault of the hotel, and could happen anywhere."

"Set up like a country manor. Elegant chandeliers, marble staircase, beautiful table setting for breakfast. Personable host, nice room and view of country side.
Best to call host on Whats Ap for directions to the property once you turn on to the dirt road"

Pro: gorgeous and spacious property, we were upgraded to a junior suite that was lovely, attentive staff, and incredible amenities. Pool was wonderful for tired bodies.
Con: very few. The restaurant on site has pretty limited menu, toilet in room kept running all night long- informed staff on checkout (as it was troublesome to flush, and wasting water), fridge in room- housed in a cabinet that I feel caused it to overheat… and therefore was not very powerful enough to keep drinks cold.

This was the first hotel we visited in our two week Tuscany vacation. Coming out of Rome and getting on the highway north, it looked like the exit should be labeled for Cortona...but it wasn't and we wasted a lot of time getting lost (our fault). Once we found the hotel, it was a gem in the hills in the vineyards. Breakfast on the patio of the little glass Liminoere building was fabulous. Loved their boxer dog roamed around saying "hi". Owner/chef is on premises and she gives cooking lessons....

Our visit was like being spoiled from the moment we arrived! The staff and even the owner were there to make sure we had everything we needed! Though our visit was in the off season, the only thing we didn't get to use was the pool as it was just too cold. The breakfast, though, was the best we have ever had while traveling! Highly recommend!!!

This was the perfect away from the city stay for us. Cortona was just a quick few day stay for us but the staff/sylvia were fantastic. Room was clean, the breakfast was delicious. A/c and water pressure from the shower was much needed and the location was perfect for us. It is a short walk from downtown Cortona (steep walk into the city and about 15 mins) but the views are unmatched. Sylvia went above and beyond for us picking us up and dropping us off at the bus station. Highly recommend to...

I visited La Macerine with my wife and a couple of friends. The property is beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, I met Stefano who was a terrific host, very helpful and pleasant! The location on the lake is just a beautiful setting. I highly recommend for anyone touring in this part of Tuscany and Umbria.

A lovely, comfortable hotel in a beautiful location with spectacular views. The staff was beyond excellent going out of their way to help us as we navigated through the issues related to driving in a hilltop medieval town. I have been in Italy many times but everything here was so delightful and beautiful it will always remain a highlighted memory.

Nice quiet hotel even though on the main street of the castle area. Staff was friendly, the food was excellent and the price was a bargain. The room was quite small but there is a common area where we could hang out a couple of times. Parking is by the hour in the nearby area so recommend you get the parking app, which was also useful in other towns.

This property was stunning. Gorgeous views westward over the rolling Tuscan hills, paired with a cozy spa and relaxing outdoor pool were the perfect setting for a portion of our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly/helpful and management certainly does a superb job maintaining this historical setting.

We had a wonderful couple of nights at Hotel La Torre. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The rooms were large, comfortable, clean and air-conditioned. Breakfast was plentiful. We loved Castelioni del Lago - beautiful views, nice people and great little restaurants.

Great front desk staff.
Properly maintained well.
Pool is excellent.
Breakfast can be a little better.
This was my third stay there.
I don’t recommend the restaurant,so many better local places in the area.

My husband and I spent one night at Residenza dei Ricci last weekend and cannot wait to return. It is ideally situated for exploring Chiusi and the surrounding area.
Our short time spent under the care of Donatella and Raffaele was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. They are talented, congenial and generous hosts. The residenza is beautifully appointed with all the amenities one would expect at a luxury hotel -- combined with all the warmth one feels while staying at the home...

We were the only guests for 2 nights out of 3, at this lovely B&B on the estate of one of the best wineries in Tuscany. We had sumptuous room with a living room, bedroom and bathroom (nice shower!) all to ourselves. The staff were local women, who made a wonderful breakfast every day and told us of the life in Tuscany. The place was spotless, the food great, and it was so relaxing to come " home" to the vineyards every night, after seeing hordes of people in the towns we explored. One could...

The best area to stay in Borghetto, Umbria, is directly within the historic village itself, particularly near the Mincio River.
This small, picturesque village is defined by its medieval watermills and the stunning Visconti Bridge, offering a unique and memorable setting. The village is very compact, with its main attractions—the river, the bridge, and a handful of restaurants and artisan shops—all within a short walk of each other. Its layout is focused around the flowing water, creating a tranquil and visually appealing environment.
Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic and quiet getaway. The village offers beautiful scenery for strolls, intimate dining experiences right by the water, and a peaceful atmosphere that encourages relaxation. Staying within the village provides direct access to its historic charm and picturesque views, making it superb for those seeking an unforgettable experience.
For travelers looking for convenience and a slightly wider array of services while still being close to Borghetto's beauty, staying in Valeggio sul Mincio, just a short walk up the hill, is a good alternative.
When is the best time to go to Borghetto?
The best times to visit Borghetto are during the spring (April to early June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the area is less crowded.
Spring brings mild temperatures, blooming wildflowers, and a fresh green landscape, making it ideal for walking or cycling along the Mincio River. You'll find comfortable conditions for exploring the village's historic watermills and the Scaliger Castle without the intense summer heat. This period is particularly good for couples seeking a romantic and relaxed getaway.
Autumn offers similarly agreeable weather with comfortable temperatures and fewer tourists. The surrounding vineyards begin to show their fall colors, providing a picturesque backdrop for strolls. This season is also known for local harvest festivals, which can add a unique cultural element to your trip. Travelers who appreciate good food and wine will find this a particularly rewarding time to visit.
While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be quite hot and crowded, especially on weekends due to local tourism.
