Very charming estate style French home with a wonderful host. Breakfast was simple, tasty, had variety, and felt local and homegrown. Entering the gate and getting to parking was pretty tight but if you are driving a car in France you should be used to that by the time you get there. Our hostess was very accommodating for the couple special requests that we had. The house is a 15 to 25 minute walk from sites and dining in the main town center of Bourges. Our hostess also told us about a free parking lot at the south end of town which ends up being a little closer to the dining and some of the sites. A nice place, we would stay there again.
A beautiful old house that is very well kept. The rooms are decorated with antiques that make you feel like you are in a castle. There is a beautiful terrace to eat. The breakfast had homemade yogurt, locally made jams and cheeses from the region. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
Great breakfast in a pretty dining room! Magalie was a great hostess, very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was also large. Very nice salon to enjoy coffee, tea, and small sweet treats. A little oasis close to town. Parking is on site with an electronic gate. Definitely recommend.
A fabulous B&B with individual rooms, each named for someone interesting in history. Within the room we had a sheet with details of the person our room was named after which gave context to it.
The grounds are filled with interesting sculptures and the art theme flows through the place.
Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. We would stay here again if we are in the area.
This guest house provided a wonderful stay - an elegant large room, top-class bed linen, peaceful, parking in grounds, friendly hostess. For the same price as a budget hotel it offers a different and superior experience. The hosts provide many thoughtful touches like home made yoghurt and jams at breakfast. Easy 15 min walk into town over railway station. We only stayed one night as a stop-over on a drive north but wished we could have spent longer there. We actually felt cared-for, which was very unusual.
The hotel is beautifully renovated, although the bathroom is a little dated. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The owners were lovely and very helpful
This is an absolutely wonderful property located outside the busy town center of Bourges but within walking distance. It is a beautiful home run by the family with 4 nicely appointed and cozy rooms upstairs. Parking on site and breakfast and a nice coffee and pastry salon round this wonderful place out.
A beautiful property. Large airy bedrooms.
The gate was closed so missed it at first . Tight if you have a wide car but private and safe . Continental breakfast and the owner is very helpful and recommended a fabulous restaurant not far from her property for dinner . Well worth staying if your in that area
Highly recommended . Excellent host , very helpful and attentive. Superb breakfast with local goodies to taste. The rooms a clean and spacious , the bed large and comfortable. We stayed for three days/ nights to visit the local area and explore the region on motorcycles. One of the main considerations for us was secure parking , this was ideal with automatic gate entrance and very private. A classic french property with lots of history and very nicely presented. We would be very happy to go back for one or more nights.
This is a lovely place to stay very comfortable the decor is distinctive and the garden ornaments are such good fun and unique.
The hostess was very helpful helping us with a reservation for evening meal, the breakfast was very pleasant. Yes we would stay again
We enjoyed staying here. It was as easy to walk into the city as was described. We felt welcome and were able to communicate though we don’t speak French well. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful historic property expertly and cheerfully managed by a generous and attentive hostess. The house is in the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, with historic details balanced by all modern comforts --a gem!
