"beautiful hotel! lovely weekend away."
really enjoyed this hotel the staff were really friendly and helpful! Only stayed for the night but would of loved to stay longer. Only downfall is parking i understand it's expensive in Brighton but didn't expect that much as staying in hotel. But apart from that would recommend.

"Victorian splendour, one of nicest in Brighton"
A lovely hotel with large rooms, marble clad staircases etc. However, the hotel was managed far better before Hilton took it over. The welcome was unwelcoming, I arrived 10 minutes before check in time and was told with no friendly smile or apology to come back in an hour and even then the room might not be ready. I had left my bags in the bag room and on check in was told they would be taken to my room. Two hours later I had to fetch them myself. The toilet took multiple pumps and good luck to get it to flush, I complained and was told it would be repaired, 44 hours later I left the hotel with the toilet still unrepaired. I suspect room 415 will still have the same problem now. This was a premium room in a top hotel, come on Hilton I deserve better.

Location was ideal for what we needed. Towels were hard. Bed was uncomfortable. Biggest complaint was not knowing that the hotel garage fees were not included in room rate.

"Would have been a 5/5 but there were a few issues."
Had a few issues at this hotel (Nothing major) but not sure if it was the hotels fault for a couple or Expedia. Booked a specific room (Sea View Corner Suite) and specified that I would like to confirm that there was a bath in the bedroom before following through with the booking. Expedia confirmed that there was a bath in the bedroom and that they had confirmed with the hotel and made a note about it on the account. Turned up and was given my room number and key upon checking in, wen't up to my room and I had a different room that not only didn't have a bath in the bedroom but it didn't even have a bath in the bathroom. I went down to ask about it and luckily had the not on the booking to show that it was confirmed that the room I had booked came with a bath in the bedroom. I was given a new room within about 20 minutes and moved into it. The Sea View Corner Suite is awesome, the only issue I had was that one of the windows was blocked by scaffolding, so we had to have the blinds drawn on that part. I believe that might have been why we were given a different room to begin with (Higher up room had no scaffolding) but it would have been nice to have been warned that there was building work going on. As we left for dinner the staff apologised for the mix up and stated that they would deliver a bottle of wine to the room for us, they didn't have to but wanted to. This was never actually acted upon and nothing was dropped off at the room.

"Lovely little single room"
The room was small but cozy, not crowded, perfect for a single traveler. Bed was nearly as comfortable as my bed back home and I slept like a rock every night. The bathroom is spacious, water pressure in the shower is a Godsend. Very little ambient noise in the hotel, nice and quiet. I put the DND sign up instead of taking room service every day and they left me a nice courtesy letter that told me how to get fresh towels regardless of no room cleaning that day. Staff is friendly, helpful, and second pillow was provided before I could even ask for one. View from my hotel window wasn't the best but the view just outside the hotel, and from the lobby and dining area, is absolutely lovely. Just across King's Road is the beach. Wonderful place, I'd love to come back to King's Hotel and Brighton.

"A characterful hotel in a great location"
My wife and I had a three night stay in a Superior room with sea view. This is a traditional sea-side hotel which, whilst not pristine, has been well maintained and upgraded. It has a pleasant character and our room was spacious and airy. It is nice and quiet too. Service was not ultra-slick (e.g. the Reception is not permanantly manned and you sometimes have to wait to get attention), but this is not really a problem as all staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the village of Rottingdean which is around two miles East of Brighton. The hotel is right on the seafront, leading directly onto the Undercliff Walk (to Brighton) and some nice shingle beaches (with a Life Guard during popular times). A High Street leads inland through the picturesque historic parts of Rottingdean, complete with local shops. A public bus service runs to Brighton every 10 minutes or so, and you can leave your car at the hotel for free. We had breakfast in the hotel. The cooked menu was pleasingly varied (Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon etc.), and was beautifully cooked. In contrast, the Continental Buffet was not particularly extensive. In the evening, the hotel's bar and restaurant is popular with non-residents too. Rottingdean is a relatively quiet location though and this is reflected in the Hotel's clientele. There are also several other places to eat in the village. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the White Horse.

"Good position for beach, shopping and entertainmen"
Hotel is in need of a refurb and looking and feeling tired. Rooms adequate but not inviting by today's standards, or those of other Holiday Inns. king size bed was in fact 2 single mattresses pushed together, not very comfortable in the centre!
