9/10 Wonderful! (622 reviews)
It's spacious but the smell of the elevator and hallways are atrocious. Worst smell ever, like bad BO or worst. The apartment itself also had a weird odor. We had to go buy room spray. But it was convenient to have 2 bathrooms and 2 rooms especially for groups of 4 or more. If you need just a place to sleep it's OK.

9/10 Wonderful! (740 reviews)
Rarely can I say that everything about a hotel booking was perfect - the whole experience exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful stay.
We were visiting the Fringe as part of our 21st anniversary, I'd mentioned it a while back when I booked. I also asked if we could have a room with a view and be quiet if possible. Sometimes you mention these things and they all get ignored!
Well not at the Inn on the Mile - it's a beautiful boutique run hotel, with a bar and really great friendly staff. A big thank you and shout out to the general manager, Rosie, who arranged the room, which was perfect - views of the royal mile in the heart of the Fringe and a beautiful room which was quiet too.
In the room when we arrived was a welcome card from Rosie and complimentary bottle of prosecco and basket of Scottish snacks/drink goodies! We felt really special and such a nice way to celebrate our 21st anniversary.
The room itself was clean, modern, and beautiful decor with a super smart bathroom. All the staff during our stay were really friendly, helpful and breakfast was yummy and lots of it. We loved the crushed avacodo with tomatoes/corriander with poached egg.
We also had two complimentary free drinks for the bar - so we had a cocktail and prosecco (yes more!) actually on our last day sitting in the outside area before we headed off to the airport. Our luggage was stored just inside the door so it made it really easy for us to head off that day. Thank you so much :-)

9.6/10 Exceptional! (31 reviews)
We stayed for 2 nights in this apartment hotel. We had our 2 year old with us, and this was a fantastic stay for a few reasons.
1. The team is highly communicative and amenable to requests. Originally they had given us a baby cot, but my toddler has outgrown it - so they were gracious enough to give us an extra bed, with no extra charge. They accommodated an early check-in to make us comfortable.
2. The room while small, was exceptionally well designed. Even with a pull-out bed, a sofa, a small dining table - we never felt cramped. The furnishings were modern and high quality, and having a small kitchenette in the room was helpful.
3. The location is amazing - a short walk from the Royal Mile, and on a street that was quiet at night. They have rooms that face the castle - though they were sold out of those during our stay.
4. Finally, it's the small things that make a good stay great. They left a super cute soft-toy for my toddler on our departure date, which he absolutely loved.
One small downside - you have to take a staircase with about 20 steps to get to the rooms. There are no elevators to carry your suitcases. This wasn't a big issue for us, but if you are mobility impaired, it could be a challenge.

"Clean and comfortable. Terrific staff, who also helped us with tips to get to several sightseeing locations. Amazing breakfast! Room was on the small side, but only two hooks for all our towels and no closet. No washcloths either. Room temp controls were touch pad and hard to understand, but staff ..."
