Spring Break Get-Away
An excellent place to get away for a few days. Cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Do pay attention to the road, it does require some skill to navigate, but then it is up the side of a mountain so you should expect that.

Gorgeous views
Very nice cabin with one of the most amazing views you can find. To get to to hot tub, you had to wear shoes and when they say you need a four wheel drive, believe them. But overall the place was comfortable and very nice to stay and I would do it again.

Million dollar view BUT
This cabin has a beautiful view. Great location. BUT! The beds & pillows are very uncomfortable need to invest in ZINUS mattress. Inexpensive but very comfortable and great for rental properties. Listing should say fire pit but no were to set so guess can bring chairs. Need some TLC. Only one side of the toaster oven works. Coffee pot doesn’t keep the coffee hot. Both Bathroom showers faucets comes away from the wall when you turn on the shower. You can’t change the hot tub pass 99 degrees so it’s just warm water not a hot tube. For the price of the cabin it should have been better maintained.

Awesome cabin and great place to stay
The property was everything they said it was online, like a couple other reviews have said a portion of the basement where the washer and dryer are located is closed off for remodeling which is no big deal. Everything from kitchenware to blankets to towels, etc was well stocked. Plenty to do in the area, my only reason for not leaving 5 stars overall is strictly with the vacassa listing directions. It took us up Big Rocky's road first, well after the forever long drive to the top there was a locked gate nobody knew nothing about so we had to manage to turn around on a mountain trail basically and go back down and around. When you get to the other entrance (black forest drive) off of Laurel branch rd. It will want you to turn left at the first road you come to, well we went that way and after roughly a half mile there was a tree across the road and just beyond that another locked gate. So if it helps anyone, once you enter the "community" through the main gate, dont take the first left, stay straight and it will wind up and around roughly 1/2 mile to the cabin. We went up it a few timew over the week in a 4 cylinder 2wd gmc terrain, it did it but its tongue was definitelt hanging out by the time you get to the cabin. Otherwise everything was awesome, cant wait to come back again.

Great view but...
The view is amazing from the deck and hot tub and it is great how secluded and peaceful it is on top of the moutain. The drive up while intermediating at first is not bad. The worst part is trying to back into the driveway as there is not a great way to turn around a large vehicle. We traveled with our two young children. We were well aware that that we rented a house on the side of a moutain so it would not be safe for our two year old to be running around outside. However we figured the deck railing would be in good enough shape to be able to let him roam freely. This was not the case, he was able to push numerous rails from exposing a wide enough gap that he could have fallen through. We also experiend the same issue upstairs in the loft area. The property stats that it does not allow pets but our 7 month old was coverd in animal hair after crawling on the floor and my wife who is allergic was having her allergies act up. We also found a couple of random nails laying on the ground in the downstairs bathroom which isn't a big deal except for having our young children with. We had decided after the first night that nobody was going to be able to enjoy themselves so the next day we reached out to Vacasa via phone and their chat with our concerns asking for either a refund of our remaining nights or a different listing. Both times we were told the local office would get back to us momentarily. After not hearing back from them we went and booked a different rental for the remainder of our stay. 2 Days later we finally received a phone call from a maintenance guy, (not even from Vacasa) but we were in the dark and had checked out and into our new place the day before already. Just bad customer service from Vacasa, I would never rent a property managed by them again. This rental could use some new beds and a better cleaning service. Would be fine for adults but wouldn't recommend if you have young children.

Do they really know this property?
I cannot stress enough how much hassle I received from the management company. I booked this many weeks in advance, yet on the day of travel they constantly texted me about the urgent need to sign something and threatened I might not be able to get into the cabin. The one time I could actually get to the electronic sign in, it required purchasing to sign. About the cabin: the hot tub was off limits, downstairs was under constructions, there were no outside seating for the "fire pit," smudges were all over the door windows and a thick layer of dust on the furniture (not the tops) and the upstairs bath takes about 30 minutes to drain; in other words, you wind up standing in water when you shower. One last complaint, I messaged the management company asking what kind of coffee machine the cabin had. In the middle of my stay, they answered the 2 week long message. They answered wrong. The cabin has both a drip pot (I found at the back of a lower cabinet) and a Keurig. This isn't on the list of amenities but if you are a coffee drinker, you understand the importance of knowing. But, the cabin is nice and the view outstanding. The drive up is harrowing but a car can make it. Best to travel it in daylight and this does place limitations on seeing the area.

Great getaway close to Bryson City
This place was great for a getaway to the Smokys and close to Bryson City. The road to the house is everything it’s advertised to be - having the proper vehicle or experience will help immensely. We found ourselves really enjoying much of our time just sitting on the deck looking out into the mountains. Make sure you pack what you need and maybe bring groceries/supplies with you because the trip up and down the mountain is no quick task. However the privacy it provides and the views from the house are totally worth it!
