Advantages: Very close to the Maya Museum. A Chinese restaurant next to the hotel while no other restaurants around. A supermarket is across the road. The staff does not speak English but nice to the guesst. One of the staff spoke English and very helpful. Disadvantages: The room does not have a lock from inside. No hot water in shower. Very limited facilities in the room. No electrical plug connections in the room but only two in the rest room. Stayed only one night and thought the hotel needs to be improved. Thank you.

We had a great stay at Viva Mérida. Property is very clean, Rooms are spacious. We stayed for a week, the staff was fantastic accommodating our requests throughout our time here. The breakfast that is included is generous . Is close to all center main spots and walkable to their food district. Definitely a little gem to stay if you are in town.

The property is nice, but the staff is terrible. At check-in, the employee was in such a bad mood that he failed to copy our IDs on the first try and had to ask a second time. He repeated instructions as if we were stupid. Finally, he handed us the room key. While the hotel is good, the TV never worked, but I did not want to be mistreated again, so we just left it alone.The next day, my husband went to the lobby for coffee and a staff member said it cost money, though there was no sign posted. An employee named Diana treated my husband like a homeless person. She turned to a coworker and whispered, "Can you believe they wanted to fill their thermos for free?" My husband only brought his thermos to avoid using paper or plastic cups. We decided to leave the property. When I asked Diana for her last name to report her, her attitude was unbelievable. I will definitely report her and never stay at this property again. I also forgot to mention that the towels are very old. I initially chose this property because the bed is awesome and I slept as i was at home.
