Easy parking. Check-in was a breeze. Helpful and friendly staff. Dinner in the restaurant was sublime (and I have a very fussy partner so trust me on this). The room exceeded expectations and thoughtful little niceties like sweets and luxurious ample bathroom additions and slippers/bathrobes.
We were a little late down for the 10am finish for the Continental breakfast, but not made to feel rushed at all. In fact the lovely Manager Jacey was warm and chatty. Highly recommend for value, service and comfort in a little known yet stunning Essex coast locale.
The Ship Inn is beautiful, great staff from meeting them upon welcome and throughout our stay. Following a days walking we had the perfect stay, stunning room both in decor and size, a huge comfy bed, great tea and a fan to keep us cool.
The food was a delight, although had only three oysters left so we had them along with Sardines on toast followed with the delightful Chateaubriand steak. Perfectly cooked and a delight to share with my wife, and a lovely bottle of wine. Special thanks to John for running the bar and table service, all with a smile and excellent communication skills. My only request would be to have to more local sea food / shellfish available on the menu.
Could not recommend higher.
Excellent location with lots of charm! The breakfast was simple and sufficient (unless you are gluten-free). The rooms were large and comfortable. Some dust on the lamp shades, etc. but otherwise clean. Staff were very friendly. Very nice bar/restaurant.
The staff are very helpful and parking behind pub very good. . Food to a high standard. Room was very comfortable with a large shower as requested. I am unable to use a bath so requested a shower due to my lack of mobility. The room had tea and coffee facilities and towels, robes and slippers BUT the bed, although comfortable, was extremely low. Apparently all the beds are the same height according to a member of staff. It caused a real problem in the night as I had to wake my husband twice to help me out of bed. Being in our 80's he struggled. It was a pleasant stay with help yourself to a Continental breakfast in the morning. IF you have a problem getting out of a low bed then this isn't the right property for you. Be aware, think twice.

Nice place in a good location. Bathroom needs a bit of a tidy up and the mirror in the room was rather dirty. The real letdown was the breakfast.
Lovely property and rooms in a charming location. Very comfortable. Enjoyed the continental breakfast. We also had our evening meals at The Ship which were absolutely delicious. The staff were helpful.

Staff very nice
Room clean and spacious
Lots of facilities in room
Comfy bed
Lovely old building, right near the clock tower
Lovely room and facilities. Warm and friendly staff. The pub seems a popular place for locals to get together and therefore a great atmosphere. Ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and could not fault. Interesting menu
The staff were wonderful, the room was so cozy and the location is so great!

The room was nicely decorated and clean, the bathroom was also spotless. The staff member who checked us in was pleasant and explained everything. We were at a local event so were later back, no issues with noise as mentioned by others, the pub closes at 11pm. Perfect for a stay in Burnham.
Great location, spacious room clean and comfortable, would have been five stars however the breakfast was free however disappointing, there were alternatives close by.
Would certainly stay again.
