Friendly check in. Room was spotless as was en suite shower room and both spacious. Continental breakfast was basic but absolutely adequate. On the whole good value for money.

Easy parking. Check-in was a breeze. Helpful and friendly staff. Dinner in the restaurant was sublime (and I have a very fussy partner so trust me on this). The room exceeded expectations and thoughtful little niceties like sweets and luxurious ample bathroom additions and slippers/bathrobes. We were a little late down for the 10am finish for the Continental breakfast, but not made to feel rushed at all. In fact the lovely Manager Jacey was warm and chatty. Highly recommend for value, service and comfort in a little known yet stunning Essex coast locale.

A nice size room, comfortable bed. Tea and coffee, and a small bowl of boiled sweets. A couple of packets of individual biscuits would have been nicer. Breakfast was continental, a mixture of small boxes of cereal, toast. There were croissants but they were cold and to be honest looked like they had been there a while and little cakes. We would go back as it is so convenient, plus we love Burnham 🤗

The Ship Inn is beautiful, great staff from meeting them upon welcome and throughout our stay. Following a days walking we had the perfect stay, stunning room both in decor and size, a huge comfy bed, great tea and a fan to keep us cool. The food was a delight, although had only three oysters left so we had them along with Sardines on toast followed with the delightful Chateaubriand steak. Perfectly cooked and a delight to share with my wife, and a lovely bottle of wine. Special thanks to John for running the bar and table service, all with a smile and excellent communication skills. My only request would be to have to more local sea food / shellfish available on the menu. Could not recommend higher.

This is not a place to stay for light or sensitive sleepers. It is across the road from the town's clocktower which strikes every hour and chimes every quarter right through the night. The hotel clearly recognises the problem because it leaves earplugs, which are ineffective, by the bedside. We had booked for two nights but left after one because we couldn't bear another sleepless night. The manageress was entirely unsympathetic and certainly wouldn't entertain a refund. Quite probably a familiar circumstance to her.

Excellent location with lots of charm! The breakfast was simple and sufficient (unless you are gluten-free). The rooms were large and comfortable. Some dust on the lamp shades, etc. but otherwise clean. Staff were very friendly. Very nice bar/restaurant.

The staff are very helpful and parking behind pub very good. . Food to a high standard. Room was very comfortable with a large shower as requested. I am unable to use a bath so requested a shower due to my lack of mobility. The room had tea and coffee facilities and towels, robes and slippers BUT the bed, although comfortable, was extremely low. Apparently all the beds are the same height according to a member of staff. It caused a real problem in the night as I had to wake my husband twice to help me out of bed. Being in our 80's he struggled. It was a pleasant stay with help yourself to a Continental breakfast in the morning. IF you have a problem getting out of a low bed then this isn't the right property for you. Be aware, think twice.
