Sandos Finisterra is a nice place. The rooms are a bit dated but very spacious. As part of VIP, we were upgraded to 1 bedroom with 2 bathrooms, 3 beds, a kitchenette (with nothing in it), and a dinette area.
Pros: Nice pools, beautiful area overlooking the marina. Close to markets, excursions, cruises. The food in the Italian restaurant, Don Diego and the restaurant off the beach were all very good. The restaurant by the pool was ok.
Evening entertainment daily was very nice. Spa was also very nice. Tennis court was good. Only issue with the tennis court was that the elevators only take you so far and then you have to take the stairs down the rest. The resort is on a hill so it is a bit of a hike, not terrible.
Cons: The bellman took our luggage aside when we were checking in. After registration, we got handed to someone to discuss activites but mostly timeshare. This person was nice but it did take time. When we got done, we were handed our luggage to take to our rooms. Most other hotels deliver the luggage. It wasn't a big deal but surprising. Other cons include that for each of our 2 excursions that we booked through the hotel, we were given wrong information including length of program and expected return time. They were not helpful except to book it for you. Most annoying con one was that our return transportation booked through expedia didn't get back to us to set up a time to pick us up for the airport. Had to get taxi. Not much help from hotel.
