The best area to stay in Caldes is within the main village of Caldes itself, or in the nearby hamlets of Samoclevo or San Giacomo.

The main village of Caldes centers around the historic Caldes Castle, a prominent landmark that defines the area. Streets wind through the village, offering views of the Noce River and the surrounding Val di Sole. This central location provides convenient access to local eateries and shops.

Couples looking for a quiet retreat will appreciate Samoclevo. This hamlet is located in the hills just above Caldes, offering picturesque views of the valley and the castle. It's a peaceful area, ideal for relaxing walks and enjoying the natural surroundings.

For those seeking a blend of convenience and outdoor access, San Giacomo is a good option.

The best time to go to Caldes is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, the temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling through the Val di Sole without the intense heat of summer. You'll find the orchards in full bloom in late spring, and the vineyards are rich with color in early autumn, providing beautiful scenery for photography and exploration. These periods also offer a more relaxed experience as the peak tourist season hasn't fully arrived or has begun to wind down.

For those interested in winter sports, the period from mid-December to March is ideal. Caldes is well-situated for accessing nearby ski resorts in the Val di Sole, such as Marilleva and Folgarida.
