Ground Floor: Living/dining room: 32" Freeview TV, DVD Player, CD Player, DAB Radio, Woodburner Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher Utility Room: Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet First Floor: Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner provided. Travel cot and highchair.. Small garden with sitting out area, garden furniture and BBQ. This delightful, detached, stone-built holiday cottage, dating back to 1800, is situated in the Victorian village of Strathyre and is in the perfect location to explore and enjoy Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. There are spectacular views from the garden and front door and you can walk to the village shop, children’s play park, riverside and local pub, explore endless miles of forest trails or join the Callander to Killin Cycle Route. Fishing permits for the River Balvaig are available locally and there are several golf courses within a short drive, Gleneagles is only 50 minutes. There is also a free local tennis court and bike hire within half a mile of the property. The area is also rich in Scottish history with many stories relating to Rob Roy Macgregor, whose grave can be found in the kirkyard at Baquhidder. Within easy driving distance is Stirling, where you can visit Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Perth is 1 hour away, Glasgow and Edinburgh are 1¼ hours. The local shop is very good and there are great walks straight from the door. The town of Callander is about a 10 minute drive away with a good selection of shops. Das Objekt ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Sauberkeit (speziell in der Küche) hätte besser sein können. Mit etwas putzen war dieser Makel aber schnell zu beheben. Die geografische Lage ist sehr gut, je nach dem, welche Gegend man bereisen will. Die Lage des Hauses selbst ist halt direkt an der Straße, die zumindest bei uns (meist am Wochenende ganz gut belebt war. We had a wonderful time on holiday in Craigdarroch cottage. This was our second time staying in the cottage and as before we found it very comfortable in terms of heat (we could control the heating temperature) and equipment (nice couches to relax on and good cooking utensils). It had everything we needed within the cottage and has fantastic scenery surrounding it. We enjoyed many walks from the front door and loved coming back to the log burner and a glass of wine. The village also has a few places to eat and drink where we were always made most welcome. Reading previous reviews was a bit concerned on main road (as we had a dog ). We only used back door and were never bothered by any road noise . Cottage was good value and very comfortable . Only small issues - bedrooms are very dark and not a fan of a bathroom downstairs (also the extractor was no use and probably needs a good clean). Other than that a great break !
