Cancon is a small, hilltop bastide village, and its center is its main attraction. The village is characterized by its central square, Place des Cornières, surrounded by arcaded buildings housing local shops and restaurants. The narrow streets radiate from this square, leading to the 14th-century church and offering views of the surrounding Lot-et-Garonne countryside. This central area is ideal for travelers who appreciate being within walking distance of local amenities and experiencing village life.

Couples often find the village center appealing for its quiet evenings and easy access to dining options.

The best time to go to Cancon is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, late spring offers blooming landscapes and comfortable temperatures for exploring the countryside and local markets. The area around Cancon is known for its fruit orchards, particularly plums, which begin to flourish around this time.

Families traveling with children will find early autumn ideal. The weather remains mild enough for outdoor activities, and the harvest season brings local festivals and opportunities to experience rural French life.
