“Great welcome from the staff Room was spacious , clean and well presented. It's an old period pub/hotel so the shower room.eas compact but all perfectly fine. Bed was really comfortable and although my room was close to the road I wasn't disturbed at all through the night. I ate in the pub and the food was excellent, couldn't fault the service or the meal. View north-east from the public footpath at the head of the valley. A building of many parts, which has been developed from the original Knights Templar preceptory which was here in 1189. The cloister on the right leads from the formal gardens to the mainly 14th century chapel of St John of Jerusalem on this side of the building at the centre of the picture. The main part of the huge manor house behind is 16th century.
