Once you've ticked off the interesting places in Cambridge, there's loads more to discover in the surrounding region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and get on the road. These are some drives you're sure to love:

• Make tracks to Launceston for an excellent sightseeing experience. About 95 miles from Cambridge, it's home to many inspiring sights like Cataract Gorge.
• Your next pit stop? It has to be Derwent Valley Council, which is around 50 miles away. Mt. Wellington is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
• Find your way to Tarkine Forest Adventures at Dismal Swamp to feel grounded in nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Cambridge, it's roughly 190 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Australia, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well.
