Once you've visited all of the terrific places in Jaffa, there's plenty more to see in the surrounding region. Grab the keys to a rental car, toss your luggage in the trunk and get out there. These are some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• Head to Jerusalem for a fun-filled sightseeing experience. Approximately 30 miles from Jaffa, it's home to loads of cool attractions like Western Wall.
• About 65 miles away, Acre is also a hit with travelers. Be sure to check out Akko Harbor while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this colorful city.
• Get into the outdoors and inhale the fresh air at Princess Beach. You'll find it about 180 miles from Jaffa.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Israel, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some additional requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in most places to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
