Find out what ages the young driver surcharge applies to, and the cost, before booking your ride. Suppliers also restrict the categories of cars young drivers can rent. Higher limits are in place for large vehicles like premium SUVs and luxury models.
What do you need to rent a car in Tercena?
Most of the time, all you'll need is a current driver's license and credit card in your name when collecting your car. Proof of coverage may also be required if you choose to opt out of the company's insurance policy. Requirements are likely to differ between rental providers, so it's always a good idea to check in advance.
What side of the road do you drive on in Tercena?

Where can I find a Tercena car rental if I am younger than 25?
You'll need to check the age policy of the Tercena rental suppliers you're interested in. If you're under the age of 25, some outlets will charge extra fees. It's better to know about this ahead of time so you can budget accordingly. Each rental car company has its own rules for young drivers, so it's smart to do your research.
What insurance should I choose for my car rental in Tercena?
Start your road trip on the right foot by purchasing Expedia's collision protection. While there are many types of insurance, this is one you should have. It provides primary coverage for vandalism, accident damage and theft up to $35,000, as well as round-the-clock emergency assistance. Don't wait until you reach the rental desk to insure your precious ride. Opt in to collision protection while booking your Tercena ride with Expedia and save money and time.
Can I drive in Tercena with my current driver's license?
If you don't have a driver's license issued in Portugal, then you might need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

  • Age restrictions: You need to be at least 25 in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
  • Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before getting behind the wheel. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental vehicle.
