Car Rental Wakamiya

After you've ticked off the fabulous places in Wakamiya, there's heaps more to discover in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and hit the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll discover Glover Garden and lots more interesting attractions in Nagasaki. From Wakamiya, it's approximately 70 miles away.
• Next stop? Consider Hofu, which is around 70 miles away. Mori Museum and Garden is one local hot spot you really shouldn't miss.
• Spend time in nature and inhale the fresh air at Shukkeien. You'll find it about 130 miles from Wakamiya.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Japan, then you might need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before you drive off the lot. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
