"Staff were really nice and helpful. The outside looks old and so does the entrance, however, the rooms are modern and extremely clean. There’s nothing missing! I would definitely come back!
Danilo was helpful and welcoming and all the staff were friendly and work hard.

"We stayed here to explore Abruzzo. We were happy with the room (family of 5 shared). The owner was very personable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every day (especially the coffee!) and had dined in their restaurant one of the evenings. They are super close to a grocery store. We would recommend staying here to explore the nearby area."

"Vielen Dank Hellenah für den herzlichen Empfang und die Tipps zum Abendessen und zu den möglichen Aktivitäten.
Leider mussten wir auf Grund ein privaten Notfalls eher abreisen.
Wir haben jetzt mitbekommen, dass uns das Geld erstattet wurde. So viel Herz und Mitgefühl❤️ danke- wir kommen wieder und führen unsere Reise fort."

This is a really beautiful property, and specific to those seeking remoteness. The village is effectively uninhabited, and at the same time offers a dramatic view of the surrounding mountains. A bottle of wine is offered for sale, but if you’re planning to eat in the evening, plan on driving 10-15 minutes to the closest restaurants. Of note, the breakfast was very complete and delicious!

This hotel is a memorable trip back in time. Sextantio purchased and renovated 30 rooms in the village, each one with a different character, charm, and challenge. The rooms were restored with basic amenities, but it is easy to imagine the simple life people lived centuries ago.
The atmosphere is reinforced with candlelight and fireplaces. Upon entering the historic dining room or the Cantinone, you may be motivated to take pictures prior to eating your sumptuous breakfast or relaxing with...

I stayed for a week in June. The room was spacious and clean, with WiFi and an AC unit. Breakfast was what Americans might call "continental", with local sweets to go with an espresso, fruit and yogurt. The person who checked me in was very helpful and friendly, was happy to provide some local information, and checked in on me several times during the stay to see if I needed anything. The only downside was that the one-way street outside my window was a bit noisier than I would have...

The property outside was in very poor condition but the rooms were lovely. All renovated and spotless. Breakfast was very nice with lots of fresh home made options. Wish they would clean up the outside!

If you want to get away from the crowds and relax in the countryside, this is the place! Incredibly beautiful, clean, and well maintained. You will be well cared for. Donatella will prepare regional foods for you that are fresh and devine! It is a little challenging to find and you will likely need a car .. but once there you will return! You will not be disappointed.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The owners were kind and personable. The breakfast was very nice, the apartment was large and comfortable - we didn't realize that they offer apartments and air bnb rooms bec we would have opted for the latter rather than the apartment but it was very nice and had a futon if we needed to accommodate additional people. Kitchen with full size fridge, balcony, and nice bathroom. Would definitely recommend.

We cannot say enough good things about this accommodation! Centrally located, this quaint room was comfortable and clean. It was not a problem for us, but the shower in our room was very small which might be an issue for a larger person or someone with mobility issues.
Super friendly, communicative hosts and a wonderful building with lots of character. It was a perfect home for us while visiting this romantic town.

Hotel 99 Cannelle is a gem. From the lobby, to the rooms and to the breakfast room, the interior is a work of art. Breakfast is fantastic and filling, the staff is welcoming and super-super nice. A special thank you to Serena for making our stay at Hotel 99 one that we will fondly remember.

Location, service and breakfast are awesome, especially the two guys at breakfast who make individual coffees. Rooms are a bit dated ( think college dorms) but very clean. Front desk people are friendly and helpful.

The breakfast buffet was varied and beyond the usual 4 item continental type. Eggs and bacon in a warming dish, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. There were toastable ham and cheese sandwiches and hot and room temperature pastries and cakes. And of course a coffee bar with a gifted barista.

What is the best area to stay in Carapelle Calvisio?
The best area to stay in Carapelle Calvisio is within the historic center of the village itself.
This central area offers a quiet experience, with narrow, winding streets and stone buildings that reflect the village's rich history. You'll find a few small, locally-run accommodations that allow you to fully appreciate the slow pace of life and the beauty of the Abruzzo region. It's a great base for exploring nearby medieval towns and enjoying nature walks.
Travelers seeking a peaceful retreat will also appreciate the historic center. The quiet surroundings and the opportunity to interact with local residents offer a relaxing escape from busier tourist destinations.
When is the best time to go to Carapelle Calvisio?
The best time to go to Carapelle Calvisio is during the late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to October, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.
During these months, the Abruzzo region experiences warm, sunny days with comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, or simply enjoying the village's quiet streets. The local flora is in full bloom in spring, and the autumn brings beautiful fall colors and harvest festivals.
This period is particularly appealing for couples and solo travelers looking to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the area without the extremes of winter or the peak summer crowds.
