Our room was spacious, clean and beds were very comfortable. Convenient parking on site, although chargeable. Breakfast had something for everyone and the food was excellent. The hotel is in a prime position. Directly opposite the castle and the magnificent Bute Park. Also, within easy reach of the excellent shopping areas.

The hotel was convenient for shows and shopping, room was good. We had booked a double room but were given a twin room, this was quickly sorted by reception and housekeeping staff. We don't like breakfast being self service, as everything is so spread out, you spend ages walking around to put a meal together, cooked food is only warm.

Air con was great in the rooms, the bar & lobby etc are modern and an absolutely brilliant location. Unfortunately the rooms are not modern and are quite run down, old carpets are not appealing at all but overall for a one night stay in worked well.

Rooms seemed basic and a little run down - reception was the smartest area. Water was also scolding hot so couldn’t have a shower and no time to fix as we were leaving early the next day due road closures. The hotel is very central though and perfect if you are going to a concert in the castle which we were.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice size rooms & could control the temperature of the room. Handy to have a fridge. The breakfast choice was great & the cooked breakfast lovely & tasty. Will definitely stay again. Good location for Cardiff Castle for the concert we were attending there & also just a few minutes walk from the shops.

Great location. Room was clean but just very tired. Bed mattress was quite sagging, curtains broken, very few plug sockets, bath damaged. It served a purpose but just very tired and dated now.
