Cathedral of Vac Tours

I'll start with the good before i dive into the bad. We stayed for a week as a group of 6, staff were lovely, and the area was really quiet, food was fantastic with good portion sizes at a really good price. The indoor pool was also good too. However... the accommodation wasn't in the best condition. There was ants in the kitchen which made use limited, plug outlets falling out of the wall, the boiler was dripping which required mopping up each day, the shower door was supposed to open outward but on arrival found to be forced inward, which we had to fix ourselves prior to use. Shower had a partial drain blockage and wasn't draining fast enough which led to it spilling all over the floor, about a third of the light switches did not work, housekeeping did not visit once in our 7 day stay (we asked at reception on day 2 or 3 for more towels and were told they would be dropped by later, this didn't happen, apparently they were low on towels when asked again later), the amount of dirt under the bed with previous guests pack of tissues, and an empty bottle and finally the lack of cutlery to eat as a group was a little saddening. One of the outdoor chairs was also broken which led to one of the group almost falling out when they sat down. This worked for us because we used this more as a base than somewhere to actually stay in for long hours, but the room is in serious need of repair and updating. If the rooms were updated and fixed, we would return again :)

With a name like Hotel Gin, we weren't sure what to expect. What did we get? Just an absolutely amazing, modern, stylish room. The location was great, and the staff was amazing. The only thing I would say is the bathrooms should have been a little larger for such a large room, but I'm nitpicking. We will be back!

Kept in contact with the hotel via whatsapp and they checked daily every morning if I needed anything or new towels. Location was 10/10 very central, air-con was very much needed.
