"A perfect location for a solo retreat. The house is very rural and isolated, which is exactly what I was looking for. Check-in was as easy as could be, and communication with Allison was perfect. She answered all of my questions quickly and was a delight to work with. Because the property is so isolated, you will need to get supplies/provisions well before you arrive. It's a 30-minute drive to the Wal-Mart supercenter in Harrisburg, the closest town of any decent size. However, the spectacular full kitchen makes cooking easy. All cookware and cutlery are provided, as are a basic supply of spices focused on Italian cooking. If you like cooking Asian cuisine like stir-fry as I do, or Mexican, you'll need to bring your own spices. The hot tub is excellent and was a real treat in December.Watching TV during the day can be a bit problematic; with the current orientation of the TV, the sun coming in from the windows with a southern exposure creates a lot of glare on the screen. If you're out enjoying the Shawnee Forest during the day, you'll never encounter this very minor issue.I absolutely loved this house and the hosts. I would gladly stay here again. "We absolutely loved our stay here. First, I would like to imitate that the host was incredibly friendly and communicative. The cabin was cozy and immediately upon pulling up the driveway, the feelings of privacy, peace, and comfort came in. We loved the aesthetic of the cabin. The beds are comfortable. There were plenty of towels available. The cabin remained warm even while it was 11 outside. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The hot tub was incredibly cozy, but only about 3/4 full in volume so we couldn’t quite get cozy and submerge fully to avoid the cold winds. The grill worked great. The campfire outside is cozy and quaint. Overall we loved the stay here and I’d recommend it for a getaway with your partner or some friends!Some things of note- I would still give this property five stars, but, I think it’s important to at least know these things before you book:Cookware - I would bring your own cookware if you are planning on prepping your own meals. There were an array of pots and pans, but many were scratched up, Teflon. One thing we really needed constantly was a large bowl for making batter for waffles, popcorn, etc. I would just bring your own knives and kitchenware. They had plenty of cutlery.Bring your own body wash, shampoo, conditioner, the host does not have any. Cleaning supplies - the host does not leave many cleaning supplies, I would recommend bringing your own for the dishwasher and wiping the countertops. Still, an amazing stay!"

"A lovely cabin. A little short on cooking utensils, I left a few, nut all workable. It's a really lovely set up. Great hot water. There are 2 lovable cat's that are very friendly and I say the house greeters. I would stay there again. "

"Me and my wife had a great time and really enjoyed the cabin. It was clean the hot tub area was amazing. The only thing I would change is it would be nice to have some blinds on the windows by the staircase. We would definitely stay here again "
